Beach City Fire Department Engine 132 responding automatic mutual aid to the Wilmot Fire Department for a residential structure fire on W. Maple Street in the Village of Wilmot, Stark County, Ohio.
Additional Information: Wilmot Brush 1, Engine 64, and Squad 646 responded to a trailer fire that occurred in the village. Beach City and Brewster responded on automatic mutual aid, and the Beach City Police Department also responded to assist. Wilmot units got on scene and quickly connected hose from a nearby hydrant through Engine 64 to the fire. Chief 6401 assumed command of the fire. Beach City was instructed by Captain 6403 for their crew to come to the trailer using pike poles to check for exposures. Chief 6401 cancelled Brewster while they were responding since Wilmot got the fire knocked out prior to Beach City's arrival. Power and gas were cut to the structure. During the incident, a nearby tree branch was knocked out across the street from the fire behind Engine 132, according to Wilmot Unit 6405. Assistant Chief 6402 requested AEP to respond to handle the tree and wires, with Wilmot firefighters helping. Both fire departments and police after the incident later cleared.
