Love the dingle dangles and killer rigs by Vexed, makes it real easy. Get the dogs. FYI, good scissors can help with cutting and trimming baits.

Well actually back in NZ I didn’t do a lot of trout fishing, grew up in taranaki so bulk white baiting with set & scoop nets, loved eeling in all the creeks on the local farm plus dad always had a boat an old run down boat that often got us into a bit of trouble haha but fun all the same we use to get some wicked fish off that with no sounder etc etc our spot was “line the fence post up with the top of the mountain” and drop anchor 😂 parents also ran a fish shop when I was a young one so always been around it an seem to just keep getting more an more love for this hobbie ✅🎣🐟

Check out the South African Transkei Rig too.Similar deal with a float in bait but uses a heavy ball sinker running rig and extra large long shank hook wrapped on float .Works best for me with overhead reel in and out of gear to suit current and walk along beach with rod .Got onto this after getting hammered by sand crabs on traditional fixed rig so tried it to get bait off bottom .Outstanding having the reel in free spool easing out line to Mr Mully !Gutted the Mulloway I caught...full of sand crabs !South African guys got their act together a long time ago!Have a look at the UK Pulley Rig as well it halves the length of trace for casting and stops bail helicoptering and restricting cast bit more to getting Dongle working with Pulley Rig but doable .Great seeing a convert to the art.Cheers

With your next mulloway you harvest mate are you able to do a catch, clean and cook. I’ve caught and eaten most of the pelagics but I have never seen a mulloway caught and broken down before, it’s a little curiosity of mine that I’ve yet to satisfy. nice work, i always check fish's belly to see what they have been eating. The last snapper had Sea urchins, full whiting, showing they are bottom eaters as well and my side of herring I was using for bait. Normally I find my burly millies chunks in their belly nothing else

Hey mate 👋 thanks heaps for watching! The set up that caught the mulloway was - a 12ft Penn prevail rod ( heavy ) a 10000 size Saragossa reel, 50lb black magic braid and 70lb black magic shock leader, the rig was a vexed dingle dangle. Catch ya on the next one 🎣👍🏻✅

Dingle dangles are a pita. I've gone back to a hook with a bait on. I don't have stingray problems though. Eat that fish. There are millions of Mulloway killed, don't feel guilty about keeping one.

Hey mate I often wear Wilson waders they are just from anaconda from memory, what I’m wearing in this video is just my track pants and a pair of those wetsuit material gum boots from bcf. About $60 but worth it I reckon. Keeps the toes warm in the winter haha ✅🎣 cheers for watching mate!!

Haha I’m not often a circle hook guy my self my go to hook has always been a 7/0 CPOINT hook from black magic but these come pre rigged with the circle hook and the little research I done it looked like dingle dangles mostly fished with circles, worked a charm anyway haha happy days ✅🎣🐟

Circles catch more fish. Gamakatsu. Fish don't get pricked by the hook point.

Dude scaling is slow and messy... Fast and cleaner to skin with scales intact..that way you get a long fillet without skin and won't curl up when cooked.
