Beach Head: Killzone 1 vs Killzone 2 Comparison

Here is a comparison (with commentary) of two versions of the multiplayer map, Beach Head. The map first appeared in Killzone 1 for the PS2. It was then remade substantially for Killzone 2. Later, the original got an HD remake for the PlayStation Store and for the Trilogy collection (which were on PS3). In the video, I compare the two versions of the map, pointing out the major differences between them.

KZ2 had the best DLC maps. Not enough people played them. Damn radec academy.

Yeah, I heard it was hard to find matches on the new maps when they came out. Maybe because people had to pay for them? Maps for Mercenary and Shadow Fall were free, and I think that made a big difference.

@@JustKillzone when they released in 2009 there were plenty of rooms but it died out fast because yes it was paid DLC. After that it was rare to find and usually it was for trophy boost. So everyone just played radec, blood, tharsis lol....

As much as i love killzone 2, the first one still is my favourite. The atmosphere, the settings and some gameplay choices are better. All the maps and campaign settings feel gritty and scary without feeling "too much", while in killzone 2 everything feels so much dark that it's almost a parody of itself. In killzone 1 every settings had its own style, from the starting trenches, to the park complex, the slums, the harbor, and so on. I didnt see the same in Killzone 2, while in Killzone 3 they surely tried but went for something way too much "colorful". The choice to find weapons and ammos around the maps instead of spawning with classes, something reminescent of old arena shooters, in my opinion a better and more fun choice. Another thing i didn't like, a small one but still, it's how they change the helghast rifle design, the one in the first game was way much cooler. I really hope we will see a remake of the first game sometime in the future, loyal to the original and without bending too much towards the style of modern shooters.

mercenaries is pretty cool too and I like shadow fall as it has a huge variety of vibes troughout the story

killzone 1 maps was better they went too hard on post processing effects on killzone 2 and you cant see any thing
