Nice hunt, even with the accompanying trash. Have to say this - found a 14k gold necklace over 9 grams. Yoo hoo! Took a football field size of beach area to find, so much trash, but got a good find finally.

Awesome hunt as usual. Your videos are my favorite and always look forward to the next one. I do not live close to the beach and our parks are extremely dirty, honestly too lazy to just start at one side and start sweeping the parks, I would probably be stuck there for a few years before it could be good. I do some sidewalks and currently following an old wagon trail in our area. So loving it! This might be a crazy question, but apart from the beach, if you are at a park or playing field, which VDI is your favorite? For me personally I love 16 - 21, seems to be the most interesting things. I have recently started digging the lower ones and going to an old field we love going to that was used as a school break area for the last ~80 years. There is so so many targets and I am going to clear the vdi range of 15+ for now. Also I never see you digging older areas for old silver coins etc. Would like to see a video where you dig those! Keep on digging!

I have found gold at too many to have a gold favorite but I really like a solid 17 which is about 50% a great find. We do want to open up our opportunities by working some older properties and even getting some permission digs...

Not every hunt needs to be filled with gold & silver. That's the treat and reward for the work... and the mystique to 'keep on hunting'. The good service of cleaning up the grounds is good mojo and unfortunately is not always recognized by the general public - including city and county officials . Wish they thought more of detectorists as helpful rather than destructive.

Wise words my friend. I get asked all the time by people about what we are looking for and always tell them anything metal and we remove sharp and dangerous items from the parks and beaches. I feel it is a service and we get rewarded from time to time. Most of my city workers have been real nice about it but I have run into a few that are not.... I showed one of them the needle and razor blade I found and it kinda changed their opinion.... cheers

Question/suggestion You ever detect Carlsbad beach? Or is that too far from home? I was there on vacation a couple of weeks ago looked like a decent Beach to detect only saw one person detecting near the parking lot. Lots people there swimming, surfing etc.

Hello Bill and Christine I have a question. From watching your videos I have started metal detecting and I also come across coins that are in horrible shape. My question is what or how do you deal with the coins at are tore up bent missing parts of the coin. Do you take them anywhere to either exchange them or get them flatten back to normal shape? Yeah and Bill I found my first tent stake and I was shocked to find it.

What is your opinion on the Garrett AT Pro.?

I have one and it was my first real detector. I want to use it but it has been acting up. However, prior to this channel I used it exclusively and had a lot of fun with it. It has brought me a lot of fun and I credit it in getting me hooked. I am not sure if they have improved them since. Someone recently told me I can change the frequency so I may have to get it back out and try to get it working again.
