Minnie all your projects are simple but, unreal and so beautiful. I love your accent also. My dad is from Oldham England and he came over on the Queen Mary when he was 8 in 1948. Our family is all about the beach and the beach treasures we find. Every corner of my condo has a beach theme. I recently went to Sanibel Florida where the shells are unreal and you have given me some new cool ideas on how to use them. In my both vegetable drawers in my refrigerator I have many glass jars from different jellies, veggies, etc. I use them to decoupage them with napkins and put tea lights inside of them but, wow, I am now going to get some rope and make a fisherman's lantern. My brother actually lives at the beach and he lectures to me all the time about spending money and not buying them big gifts as their house is getting smaller but, I think he would love this. I will fill it with sand, add some shells and get one of those battery operated string lights to add too and if they turn it on at night on their little porch I think it will look so cool. I also want to make some for my balcony that faces the west so I see nice sunsets even though I am not at the beach I think I can take some really cool shots of the fisherman's light with the sunset in the back ground. Thanks so much for your cool crafts. Also, I love the foam lifesaver you made. I am a seamstress so I always have lots of fabric on hand and I will make one for my uncle's beach house also.

Totally fresh and unique. I live in MI USA and my family and I live by the lake. We have a pontoon that is navy blue and silver. This decor would look so original on my deck. I really like these ideas. I especially like how you did the jar. There are a few videos out on tying tons of little knots and I just get completely lost and confused on those. This way is sooo much better and easier. Thank you for sharing!

Not into beach myself, prefer farmhouse style, but my son loves the nautical theme. So, looks like some gifts heading his way! Minnie is so beautiful, growing up in the countryside, what more could she ask for? Will be in Northumberland next weekend to do lots of walking. Might even get me some South Shield's sand, ha, ha! Where did you get that thicker twine/rope,? I've been looking for something similar forever.

Hello there and thank you for your comment! I bought the twine from The Range near IKEA Gateshead. Can,t remember how much I paid, but I'm sure it was about £2 for three meters from the craft isle. They do have something very similar in the garden bit in larger quantities. Enjoy Northumberland...hope the weather is good for you. :-)
