Ayy happy to see you roam the Balkans haha. Hope you had a great time there! The island looks beautiful. I love its architecture and the variety of beaches it has to offer. 2 random questions: When visiting ex-Yu countries, do you practice your Serbian, or do you tend to stick to English to get around? And do the non-standard dialects hinder your understanding of the language?

Haha, I was happy to be there😁 Thanks, I really enjoyed my vacation! Yes, there's so much to see and do😍 Thanks for asking. So, I speak Serbian but if I know that the people there use another word for something I want to say, I'll use their word. It sometimes happened that I didn't know that they used another word and my boyfriend told me afterwards that they don't say it like that😅 He's Croatian, so he was able to "translate" things. About the dialects, yes, they're a bit strange to me but I'm good at understanding a word if I know the context. So if I listen to people long enough, I'll start to understand them. But there are some words/sentences that I don't understand at all.

@@Tomanita Glad to hear that!! :) Ahh it's so cool how you guys make it work hajahah. Team work makes dream work. 😅 That makes sense. There'll always be unknown words, but knowing your way around them is all that matters. But yeah, even as a "fully" native speaker, I sometimes struggle to understand some slang and phrases from other dialects. It's completely normal.

@@Wow_927 You're absolutely right😃 This made it much easier for me😊 Ah, I get that. It's the same for me with some Swiss German dialects.
