Agree. It's so irritating to me when they talk about retiring your husband or try and pray on stay at home. Moms families have enough problems these days and enough pressure. The last thing we need is Karen from high school telling us that we should retire our husbands.😮🤬🤬🤬 there were times as a younger stay at home mom I did not feel like I was doing enough. I almost pulled the trigger and joined one of these things and I'm so glad I didn't.

My thoughts exactly. The thing is, there's already a lot of people doing exactly this in the online space so he has a lot of competition and some of them have been doing it for years. He'd be working on his previous NM "reputation" which will haunt him. A lot of people won't trust him after his link to the NM industry. Yet sadly, there'll be way too many who won't question and blindly give him their money.

I'm grateful people are able to comment safely on so many antimlm creators' content now. I'm blown away by this new normal. I struggle with knowing people will continue to be scammed, defending the scams they're part of and refuse to take accountability for their actions. It's the same things we see from all cults but at times the lack of understanding of nuance of what goes on in these cults, the steadfast commitment to surface level appearance of products and whether they work or not, etc. tires me out.

The problem is the supplement sales. Around 2013 they were having issues with HiGH levels of the heavy metal LEAD in their supplements and coaches still said that it was safe for breastfeeding and pregnant women to consume! Darin Olien a formulator of Shakeology said in a video that some people with celiac (they need to be 100% gluten free) can tolerate Shakeology even though it had oat protein. Oats that are not certified gluten free are known to have issues with cross contact and are not safe for celiacs. If BeachBody didn’t test the supplements to make sure they are gluten free, they should not try to sell to people with celiac. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people with celiac that don’t learn enough about their disease. If people with celiac continue to consume gluten they risk health issues like intestinal cancers, organ dysfunction, nerve damage, issue, osteoporosis, etc. They don’t need to have symptoms for the damage to occur. They are shady. The new scam is Belle Vital. I saw a comment on Reddit that someone in the test group was having issues with the program and their doctor told them to stop but Autumn told them to continue.

Only thing I will correct you on is that the man he used as an example did not say he was suicidal. He said his lifestyle choices were like slowly committing suicide. I say that about people who choose to do something or eat a certain way, even though they have been told to stop or it will greatly shorten their lifespan. They don't want to die, but they are unable to stop (my mother-in-law was highly addicted to sugar, and her inability to stop consuming high amounts of sugar is what killed her...kidney failure from undiagnosed type 2 diabetes).

I don’t think the downfall of MLM has anything to do with the existing distributors who have lost money. I think it’s more affected by the fact we are in a deep recession and no one has money to buy overpriced shakes, much less to spend $200 on a starter kit. Ppl just don’t have the disposable income to buy in even if they support MLM. These companies can let ppl start for free to get bodies in the door, but they get a big chunk of their revenue from kit sales. I think ppl’s eyes are any more or less open to the pitfalls of the business model it’s just no longer possible to fake it till you make it.

As for various states banning MLMs in USA, Utah won't be part of that party. Also, I'm amazed that they are (along with so many this year) "running scared" as I honestly thought the DSA had "political power" (what happened to their lobbyists). I would like to hazard a guess that some of the senators know people (if not their own wives since a lot of distributors are women) who have been deeply burned by MLMs so when they see the DSA "come knocking" all of a sudden... "I've got meetings booked until 2027" hahaha
