When I was in military boarding school on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in the early/ mid 1960s, there was a large version of this machine used to clean the beaches between Biloxi and Gulfport. I can't recall if it was self propelled or if it was towed behind another machine. The Mississippi beaches aren't that great to begin with, so having clean sand was a huge plus! The machine shown here looks like it will work just fine, but is entirely too small for any real beach.

Muhammad Hussein Really? The beach I visited in Papua was the cleanest beach I’ve seen in my life, kept clean by the people who lived there and earned money renting out beach cabanas. I thought it was actually a pretty cool system. The place that needed cleaning was everywhere else, I’ve never seen so much litter. There was a fenced off, vacant lot and people had thrown so much litter over the fence that it was half a meter deep.
