I know Mol is the best player in the world and all the love he gets is completely deserved, but man, I have so much admiration for what Sorum does. Having to be the guy that side-outs all the time in literally every match they play must be mentally draining, not to mention physically exhausting, and he does it with such composure, such calmness. At the end of the day, around 80% of a team's points come from side-outs, and he's the one getting it done. I agree that Mol is the best player in the world, but being a difference-maker like him is only possible if your partner keeps the "boring" points coming, and that's Sorum. Anyway, I just wanted to sing his praises a little bit, that's all.

I agree regarding that Sorum is taking a lot of heat. I can't help notice however a decline on his game mainly offensively. I have to say though that I am not watching the full games (yet).

This is so strange to see...usually Mol and Sorum are firing on all cylinders, respectively. I feel like Mol CARRIED Sorum this entire tournament...well, I started watching from the QF, but still, I think my point remains true. I've never seen Sorum struggle so much to side-out...maybe teams are evolving and becoming attuned to his attack style? Anywho, congratulations to these two legends. I still remember when they first came onto the scene many years ago...

I think he did great, all things considered. Having to be the one responsible for siding out all the time must be mentally exhausting, since most of a team's points come from side-outs. Mol deservedly gets credit for being outstanding and for being a difference maker, but to be the guy siding out all the time in every match they play is pretty extraordinary too. A bit unfair to say Mol carried Sorum.

How it happens that countries with no sun like Sweden, Norway with low population currently in top of beach volleyball? I would suspect brazil, usa to be in top, but Nordic countries? How does it work? And yeah, germany were in top for few years also
