Wattles your last mega dig inspired me to try removing a chunk of my own world a while back. I highly recommend that everyone does this in their world because I think I am still stacked on cobblestone and deepslate from that same chunk lol. Thank you Wattles!

Wattles you can also use blackstone buttons around the mine as like little pieces of decorative "coal" within all the rocks

hey wattles, build a diving platform next to the pit! If you jump all the way from the top build limit down to the bottom most bedrock (water needed) you get an achievement called Cliffs and Caves. And its a wild ride!

I built one of these in my world too! Such a great way to add to the area. One suggestion is to add a crane at the top over the hole.

My favorite use for a beacon is to go to bedrock, set up a full beacon with haste two, and have a 100x100 quarry of stone and deep slate. Next is for clearing land with haste two. Third is having regeneration and resistance around home base.

Fourth is a haste two tree farm to instamine logs. Works great above the quarry for efficiency’s sake.

this is my favorite thing to do in minecraft dig a huge hole put my beacon on the bottom and keep mining. makes a beautiful base once you change all the blocks for the walls.

wattles, I would LOVE it if you did more with villagers this season. they are a really fun part of mc and it would be so cool for you to talk about them more again or even make a village (recently I found out how useful (imo) nitwits are, because if you want villagers to walk around your base and not come up to lick your composter walls and barrel beams, they are a nice go too

"Insta-mining" is STILL too slow... I tried haste2 with an efficiency 5 shovel, and I still can't mine dirt from a moving mine cart. So I thought, netherrack mines really fast. So I replaced all the dirt with netherrack and got out my efficiency 5 pickaxe. Still using a beacon for haste 2, but no. There's no way to mine fast enough to break blocks from a quickly moving minecart. And the only way to get a consistent speed from a minecart is to go top speed. Why do I need to break blocks from a moving minecart? 'Jang effed up lava casting. Every time I try to lava cast these days, the water and lava start piling on top of each other creating cobblestone swiss cheese mountains. The only solutions I can think of are A- Create a troth of water in the air over my lava construction, made of dirt or netherrack or something Incan mine REALLY fast, and break it all as fast as pissible so the water reaches the ground at almost the same time to quell negative lava interactions. Or B- (what I ended up doing, but was WAY more time and resource expensive) set up a dispenser with a water bucket inside over each and every lava source, wire them all up with redstone, send a signal, and fly from one end of the sequence to the other watching the signal trigger each of the dispensers. For me, I was trying to build a circular wall around my kingdom. A 601 block diameter wall. 120 blocks high. So I needed roughly 1200 dispensers, 1200 buckets, 1400+ redstone sand, 100+ repeaters... At least it was cool to watch...
