I tried this project early on while just starting with bead weaving. I have gone on to more advanced techniques but my early failure had discouraged me from trying again. Your video made it so clear! I am not crazy about double needle styles but your video made it so easy that I feel sure I can do this single needle. You made it so easy to understand which beads are next! Thank you for such a clear tutorial!
@beadaholique12 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure whether or not there is a way to do this with one needle, but it would be much more complicated if there were then using the two needles. My best tip for trying these beaded beads is to make sure you keep track of the left and right needles when you're learning. Follow along EXACTLY, and don't turn your work or get the needles mixed up.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FORE THIS TUTORIAL!! :-) I just watched while doing this step by step and it came out beautifully. I was so glad to get to the end though because it does take alot longer than the otther beaded bead. Your explanation is excellent and thanks so much for stepping us through each step. Some tutorials drop you off after a couple of rounds assuming you have the hang of if which is never the case for me. LOL I can do this while watching but not on my own from memory yet.

awesome clear instructions! I've made it now with 15's as the small bead and 11's (or maybe they were 10's) for the 'big' bead. worked perfectly and make lovely little orb for earrings. my only suggestion is use a good colour contrast between the two sizes so you can see where you are!

I am back here too after 10 years since this video was issued. I have made many of these beaded balls using 15o and 11o seed beads for fun (I don't wear jewelry but am obsessed with miniatures). I am now brushing up on the technique to teach my niece and her mom to make these balls using plastic pearls and smaller filler beads as Christmas tree ornaments. I was wondering though, was there another method using just one string/needle?
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
@@d.a.tsun5104 Here's an example of making a different style of beaded bead with a single needle method, you may be able to adapt this technique to the look you want: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3ezZ3Srpqx3jpo
@d.a.tsun51043 жыл бұрын
@@beadaholique Thank you. I had tried the variation of bead-wrapped bead too in the past, using only seed beads, and peyote stitch method. Those are very laborious for my niece at her age.
@beadaholique3 жыл бұрын
@@d.a.tsun5104 Glad to hear you're teaching your niece, I hope you find the right technique to help her learn and keep her interested. It can be a tough hobby when you're young, but most of us here started learning as kids and it's always good to have those fundamentals to come back to.

You could experiment with different sized beads, but you'd need to see what it does with the seed beads, and whether you'd need to adjust their sizes as well. It's just a trial and error process to see what will work.

You could definitely weave a needle and thread through to attach a top loop and tassel. As to the specific instructions, that would need another video to give you step by step instructions. We'll add it to our video request list, but just a head's up, we do get a lot of requests, and can't always get to all of them.

Using a different number of beads would change the whole way this would go together, and I'm not sure how that would work. You can definitely experiment to see what happens, but you'd probably need a bit of trial and error to see if it would work.

this video is frustrating because of the edits where parts of the video are missing and the fact that she never states when you criss cross if your left needle turns into you right needle. it's not clear what your beaded ball should look like after every set of beads you add... Not Thorough enough.
