Thank you for this video! So helpful. But I would like to see the clean-up. You mentioned 400 grit sandpaper to clean off the excess solder. Do you then progress through to 600 and then buff and polish? Do you have videos that show this process? Thanks!

Great class..I didn't see any Twerking though:) I just got started making a ring when I found out I needed some math skills. I'll get this..or just go back to making wire wrapped rings. lol Thanks again for all the great vids.

You really don't need the math. There are ways to make rings without any math. You just need a ring mandrel.

when using wire solder, do you use flux prior to actually applying the wire solder to the join? Did I miss that ?

You could, but they won't be strong. They may become misshapen once worn. Good luck!

Adam Lubov It's best to stamp before you solder on the heart.

what about the pickle stff and how would you clean off the black? it didn't show that

Angie Ryman you clean the black off by putting the piece in a pickle pot and with some pickle. We prefer Citric Acid Pickle (not as hazardous as other pickles out there). Sometimes I clean the leftover solder from the pieces and after a few days it comes back ...that zone looks a little dirty. Why is that happening ?

Silver solder is a different makeup than sterling. It has more metal in it that will show oxidation so that little area will oxidize faster if not totally removed.

Question for you... I noticed that you didn’t anneal the metal wire before you shaped it... is that not a necessary step?

Nope, the wire was soft enough to form without needing to anneal it.

Hi Ingrid. We are not familiar with working with a solder iron. I would to a web search for tips on using soldering iron. We only work with the torch:)

Around 9min in she SAYS it's "a lot of tweaking and twerking" but she didn't twerk at all. Very disappointing. Otherwise, an excellent video.
