That gentleman gets nothing but the utmost respect from me. Working cases with children is one of the toughest assignments there is. I only had to type up reports for Juvenile Officers and still have nightmares about some of those cases three decades later. I hope Lily and his family can help him heal. But if they want to keep her a long time, they need to get their vet to put her on a diet. That poor pup has gained way too much weight to stay healthy.

This is a textbook ex-breeder - quiet & pretty "problem-free" (since they haven't had people to screw them up as puppies!) but also a bit guarded & independent. That's what they're seeing at the meet & greet. Bless this lovely family for giving this girl a chance - and time to come out of her shell. We'd live in a shell, too, if we'd grown-up never knowing love, except what we transiently felt for our offspring. But once they come out of their shells? They're so grateful, and so devoted to their people. I've only ever had ex-breeders and they're absolute GEMS.
