When she said that he got scared when she walked in the room broke my heart. In his mind, a person walking into the room meant that something bad was about to happen to him.😢😢😢 I'm so glad that Reggie learned to trust and love and is now enjoying all the loving cuddles and snuggles with his family. ❤️❤️❤️

@clogs49566 ай бұрын
The shaking might not have anything to do with being “poked with needles” - it could be a reaction to being removed from a known environment into an alien one. A lot of labs are against the abuse of their test animals, but they can’t be sure whether some staff might just be nasty, a bit like being anywhere in the world outside a lab.

I'll never understand why we have to test on animals. Thank you for saving that cutie pie.
@NikkieKnows6 ай бұрын
We DON'T have to test on them; it's a proven fact that, at this point, animal testing is no longer necessary. But there's money to be made in testing, and when heartless bastards think they can get a piece of that big pharma money, groups like Fauci's NIH apply left and right for "scientific testing" grants and experiments. It's never about the betterment of human health; it's ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY. No animal deserves that life, and no animal lover should ever be silent about their disgust of animal testing or our demand that it END once and for all.

One of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases beagles? “In the NIAID-supported study, twelve dogs were immunized with the experimental vaccine at the Pasteur Institute of Tunis, and then let out in an enclosed open space during the day, during high sandfly season in an area of Tunisia considered to be hyper-endemic for canine leishmaniasis. The goal of the research was to determine if the experimental vaccine prevented the dogs from becoming infected in a natural setting,” the NIAID said in its statement. The NIAID also acknowledged that another leishmaniasis study, which the White Coat Waste Project has written about, was conducted at NIAID laboratories in 2016. The agency’s statement said, “dogs were the necessary animal model for the research, and the researchers ensured that the dogs experienced no discomfort.” In the experiment, eight beagles were intentionally infected to study the transmissibility of leishmania infantum, which causes canine leishmaniasis. The dogs developed skin lesions and were later euthanized."

Reg was my Dad's name. He'd be angry at the pup's history, and crying (though trying to hide it. Typical man of his time and place) out of joy. The clip of him bouncing around happily in the snow would have had Dad laughing out loud. I'm so happy this little chatterbox is clearly where he wants to be now, with a loving family he obviously loves in return. I hope they're together for many years. ❤❤❤❤😊 My own first dog didn't make a sound for six _months_ after we got her. She was very happy, just silent - her eyes, however, spoke volumes! Being a greyhound she was never going to be a "talkative" dog, they're generally pretty quiet, just squeaking (a sort of "ee-oow") and what we call "woofling" - it's not quite a bark and often ends as if with an apology 😅. _Some_ can be chatty, and in kennels they'll talk to their friends, but at home they're pretty quiet. Lousy guard dogs! 😂 One day we were watching a documentary on the racing industry - over 30 years ago when things here weren't good; mercifully times have changed a _lot_ - when she heard a puppy give a quick yelp on having its ear tattooed. She shot up, glared at the TV (another first, she never watched it) and let out this huge, deep bark! Scare me to death 😂😂😂. She rarely barked again after that, but did start with the ee-oows and woofles. I miss that gal so much 💔.

so eager for a little human kindness and humane treatment! And still so willing to go to a compassionate human being/rescuer after all the horrible things other humans have done to him. Thans to all compassionate rescuers. They've tested and tested and tested on animals in horrible ways for a long time and know the outcome, time to stop all the cruelty. It's a billion dollar industry. There's better ways to do testing, that doesn't involve animals, but the companies that sell these animals to labs have highly paid lobbyists at the FDA, so the FDA requires animal testing, rather than the better options. It's absolutely disgusting. These companies are bringing in billions, and it's all on the back of torturing animals, because they've lobbied the FDA to make it a legal requirement.

So sad, I hope they stop the practice of using dogs in labs. Depriving them of kindness . Do they allow the time outside? I don't understand why they treat them harshly, or don't consider their needs or emotions. They should have regulations that require meeting the animals needs. They shouldn't be allowed to traumatize these dogs/animals. It's bad enough they are used in labs, they should be required to provide kindness, playtime, outside time, etc. Come on people it can be done respectfully, and meet the needs of the animal too! God please bless these animals with the treatment they deserve😢
