So many legends, so nostalgic. Some have passed and some are still here. I have a story to share, me and my friends were at hungry jacks (Burger King) in Sydney. We were on our way to slaughter at the opera house skate competition. Before we headed off Ali walked past and I fanned out and got his autograph. I think that was the best for him after what happened and it was still fresh at that time. I hope you’re reading this Ali, you’re a good person and hope you’re living a good life. Seeing you skating in this clip brings me joy. This whole clip is just amazing. Thank you beagle

I don’t know of this is true to the day, but I believe flip came from an international distributor out of England. That’s what their team had so many European skaters back then (Saari, glifberg, rowley, salabanzi, penny, boulala) It was probably easier to be on flip and get product/tour from that distributor. Baker being out of California, definitely would have cost them to ship product and fly boulala back and forth. I would of loved a baker boulala board for sure lol

Flip made it a point to only have non-u.s. skaters in their early years, so getting Ali (from sweden) made sense.... in Ali's epicly latered, he said he was a big fan of Tom Penny and jumped on Flip when they offered him a spot.... but he was always close friends with the baker crew, even had a part in "baker bootleg" i think....

My two favorite skaters of all time.... I was trying to drink away the pain from skating and almost died at 35. Sober since August 2022.
