@@roddy2561 well i ended up getting the beagle pup and its been hell, i cannot leave her home even to go to the store down the street. She does this bark cry that sounds like she's being hurt and wont stop until i come back and the neighbours were concerned but i had to explain to them she was a bit dramatic and is safe. But after that i cant leave her by herself not even to go to the washroom she'll start barking and scratching loud until i open the door. It's bit much tbh😳 i need to get her trained ut i nvr had this issue with biger breed dogs I had in the past. I would say if you really want one get one cuz maybe yours will be calm but then again thats the advice someone else gave me and nope she barks VERY loud for a tiny thing

Oh, yes... beagles are the perfect mix of a sport dog and a couch dog! Back in her active days we could get on a full day trip of hiking and she wouldn't even slow down (mind you hiking with a beagle is actually quite a slow process for humans, since their dog have to smell everything :D). But in exchange, if the weather was awful, she would go only for a quick pee and jump right back on a couch. Just cuddling and being lazy for a whole day. Also the pee intensity in their puppyhood is quite precise. Every 2 hours for few months - if you're lucky the puppy will mamage to sleep for 4 hours in night if you don't over drink it. At 6 months, a properly trained pup knows very well it's not supposed to pee inside, but sometimes it cannot help itself or you've been too blind/deaf to its signs. Some mutual mistakes can happen up to age of 2 years. Then it's usually a sign of something wrong like your dog having a minor cold or that the bagger ate something very salty and now she/he drank all the water in the world :D

My beagle was excellent in the a 2br condo. Once he got over separation anxiety he was much better. However, he did a number on the door trying to get out. Had to train him out of that. He had very few accidents. Luckily he didn't howl like most. I just made sure he was well exercised before I left and someone was home in 4 hours. A tired dog is a good dog.

You can train any Beagle as long as you put in the time. Training is key for the happiness of both parent and your furbaby. I just lost my Beagle (Peanut) on 9/11/20. He was 15 and lived a beautiful, healthy long life. He was loved and so was I. He was my first puppy ever. Yes, it was difficult, however he was my responsibility and I had to put forth the effort for the success of his well being. I will definitely have another Beagle by way of adoption as there are so many digs in shelters who are in need a loving homes. I

My beagle (11 months) essentially never barks or howls because we have always discouraged that behaviour, no matter the circumstances. To some extend barking is in their nature, but a lot of the behaviour is enforced through experience. They bark, you throw the ball. They bark, you give them (positive) attention. They bark you let them play with other dogs. You can easily discouraged barking by shushing them whenever they do so and showing them it is not the way to get attention. Just be careful not to punish your beagle for all sounds they make. Whining is a signal from your dog that they are distressed and it is okay for them to tell you.

Should any dogs be forced to live in apartments? It's not natural for dogs to stay cooped up all day in a small apartment with no access to a yard outside. Then stay cooped up all night maybe only getting outside for 20 minutes a day if they're lucky. Dogs deserve access to the outdoors 24/7. A doggy door to a yard with 24/7 access should be required for dogs. It must be like prison for dogs to be cooped up in an apartment all day and night.

I live in a two bedroom apartment. We walk 4 miles a day. 2 miles in the morning and 2 miles in the evening. I have a lot of thought toys and hide treats that he has to find. I usually cut up a carrot in 4s and hide them in spots I will remember but leave a scent trail. Cons to the last...I vacuum a lot. On walks, people will drop stuff on the grass or feed the feral cats leftovers. When your have a beagle they walk nose to the ground so if I get careless he will find something that will give them diarrhea. Great channel!! Also a beagle community!! Yay!

I own a beagle and 2 other dogs. I have a decent sized backyard that us fully fenced in but let me say this...that isn't a substitute for taking a dog on a walk. It just isn't the same. One of my dogs doesn't really care for it...he's lazy as hell lol. One of the other 2 is hyper as hell and she needs them bad. The last is my beagle which just also seems to need them but not just because of the high energy, I think they just need to be out roaming as free as we can let them. Unfortunately I have to put her on a leash when she isn't in the house or backyard. My neighbor already threatened to kill our dogs if they come near him and they never done anything to him.

Beagles are a huge responsibility. They require a lot of attention, love, exercise, patience, walks twice a day at least for 45min to an hour or so when they are older. Training, training, training is if the up most importance. You should never lose your patience when training your beagle. You must train your beagle every single day in order to have a happy Beagle. There is so much to learn. You should educate yourself prior by way of reading about the breed etc. Overall Beagles are just the best puppies. Good luck and give him or her lots and lots of love.

Definitely not a small apartment breed. They are highly energetic and never get tired. Our beagle wants to play more even after an hour walk. He gets tired only when he run like crazy in park. It's a true warning for all who are considering a beagle. Consider only if you have easy access to big garden where dogs are allowed.
