I'm looking for a way to get Ableton to take the pitch and dynamic data from my guitar to control, respectively the color and intensity of a 6-light set up. At this point it's all hypothetical but I'd like to do it for solo shows in the near future if possible.

I love the idea, but the price is insane!

First of all: This is a very very good Tutorial! Props to your presentation! This Software opens up a whole new world for my music project! Fantastic stuff right there! I have one question: You talked about the visualiser. So if I produce a light show, is it possible to link into lets say a locations house lighting and translate my light show to the setup? Thank you!

Thanks! The only thing that would change when you go to a different venue, is the patch list in Beam. That's where you enter the venue's fixtures and their corresponding DMX addresses. It's also where you decide to which tag group(s) those fixtures are mapped. Using this workflow, everything in your Ableton Live project stays the same, no matter the venue.

Hey ! I don’t understand how you change de color if One midi note is assign to Green (for example) what if I wanna make three hits with green and one hit with red on the same fixture?

In that case, you could use the same tag, but use different instruments to trigger different colors. For customer support, please get in touch with Showsync!

Worked with the Enttec USB Pro once, and now all it says is disconnected.. what am I missing?!

Do you need a DMX dimmer too for this setup?
@SoundSuite11 ай бұрын
Only if you're intending to dim conventional lightbulbs. All of the fixtures used in this video have a direct DMX input/output, so no dimmers were used.

Hey what DMX interface do you use in this video?

For this video we used the Enttec Open DMX USB.

No Mac only Warning. As usual. Is there a product that supports Windows? Seems to be a high demand for Max Live DMX with no Apple ties.
@SoundSuite8 ай бұрын
Hey there! Showsync has since released Beam for Max, which is already available for Windows. Beam for Live for Windows is currently in alpha. Please get in touch with Showsync support if you’re interested!

What DMX-USB interface are you using? I've bought an Enttec DMX USB Pro and I can't get it to work... Should it be an Enttec Open DMX USB Interface?
@SoundSuite3 жыл бұрын
In this video we used the Enttec Open DMX USB, but the Enttec DMX USB Pro should work as expected now as well with Beam 1.3.
