Regarding the wells in Portugal, I've heard one story that says the wells are a symbol of a person's growth. You enter the first well, which is unfinished and raw and follow the tunnels beneath until you reach the Inverted Well, climbing up to the top, as a complete person. It is meant to represent how a person begins as a raw, unfinished thing, but as we progress through our lives, obtaining knowledge, meeting other people, learning and growing, we finish our journey as a complete, tall individual. I think the 9 levels also represent the steps of growth itself, each level standing for one thing that helps us take steps to the next level, but I do not remember which represent which.

That cathedral with the modern art being added as part of a restoration project is actually a pretty neat idea. Imagine if we deliberately did something like that, like set up a plain stone obelisk somewhere, and then every month a carving of particular significance to that month is added to the obelisk. As months stretch to years and the obelisk is gradually filled up with carvings, it would really tell a story.

Round manholes *are* practical and carefully thought out, though, even to their weight, which is purposefully heavy so as to keep unauthorized people (mostly) out without using locks. The round shape not only makes it easy to roll to the side once you've levered it upright, it is impossible for it to fit down the shaft, meaning it cannot fall in a worker down there. And being round it also means that it has no "right way 'round" and can be replaced in any alignment, so just however it lands, rather than having to match up corners or what. Having said all that, the German one is not only beautiful, going up and down spiral stairs must be a lot easier than using a ladder, especially with arms and belts full of tools! Both are very practical; just coming at it from different directions.

My Mom grew up in Wiesbaden, and pronounced it VEESBADEN. In German, when two vowels go walking, the second does the talking.

That doesn't really apply to ie in German though... sure in English that's a double e sound but that's just a long i in German. E in German makes the sound of the English e in "Tent" or "Effervescent"

If I remember correctly, the Loretto staircase did not have the handrail at first. It had to be added later, as the nuns didn’t feel secure without it.

The last one, in Wiesbaden, I'm almost positive it's pronounced veesbaden. I lived there for 6 months and never heard it pronounced any other way. The architecture there other than the manholes is gorgeous. They have the remnants of a wall built by the Romans on one side of the city and many more buildings that had been there for a really long time.

It definitely is pronounced "veesbaden". German reading-rules are rather strict: "ie" is usually a long (german) i, like the english "ee", whereas "ei" is - with a few exeptions - pronounced like the english "i". It's not really hard to memorize... And since confusing the two can change the meaning of the word dramatically - in this case "weise" (wise) and "Wiese" (lawn) - it is advisable to be a bit more careful. I always feel sorry for Wiener sausages being called "Weiner" (the crying ones).

There are actually quite a lot of words that change their meaning if mispronounced or misspelled: "deine" (yours) and "diene" (serve); "meine" (mine) and "Miene" (face, look); "Leibe" and "Liebe"; "Leid" and "Lied"... Texts might just lose all their meaning if those two letters were juggled around all the time. I don't want to be mean, I want to help and if I can save only one person from falling into those traps, I'd be content.

I must a a German speaker and having lived in Hessen Germany. Wiesbaden is pronounced English phonetics (Vees-bahden) close the letters 'ie' denote an 'ee' sound. 'Ei' denotes an "aye' sound. Similarly 'eu' is 'oye' ie. DEUTSCHLAND 'Doy-tsch- lahnd'. Hope that helps.

So called “Chinese pyramids” are actually built by ancient Koreans. Communist Chinese governments started to dig the Korean pyramids during 1970’s but they found archeological artifacts that indicate all the artifacts that came out of them were of Korean cultural roots, so they stopped the process and covered up their very existence, for the fear that that particular territory would be known to the world as ancient Korean territories.

Master Carpenter Johann Hadwiger , built the Loretto Chapel stairs back in 1878. His grandson Oscar had Johann's original sketches as evidence to prove this, but Oscar sadly died in 1980, and the evidence has become lost.

I can’t stop laughing about how Wiesbaden is pronounced here, since it’s called Weesbaden like if I would try to spell it like you pronounce it….the “ie” is simply like a German “i” pronouncationwise…..we use “ie” in german for long spoken “i” sounds and more or less always pronounce it like the English letter “e”…so the “Wie” at the beginning of the word sounds like if you would say “Wee” or “we” but it sounds so funny and kinda cool like you say it here😂😂😂

The secret chamber behind Rushmore is depicted in the 2nd season of the Buck Rogers TV show in an episode where Buck is accused of having been complicit in the nuclear attacks that devastated Earth, and his payment had been the long space mission so he would be away from Earth during the war - which is absurd since that means the leaders of the attacks would be left behind when their lackey was "safe" in space. The secret doorway led to a vast array of chambers, including a version of the Oval Office apparently meant to serve as a doomsday shelter and center for continuing Executive Branch function.

As for that house numbers: In Wrocław (Poland) there are neighbourhoods which don't really follow number patterns. You pass number 1, 2, 3... and then get to 14 and then 32, 31, 30 all th way to 15 at the end. It's one of simplest examples.

I don't think I've ever found an example of this that wasn't explained by new construction. Buildings burn. Some get rebuilt, some don't. Villages grow into cities into metropolises (metropoli?). Streets and thoroughfares swell and grow extra lanes. Given all that, losing the original numeric pattern is pretty understandable.

Fun fact about the sphinx: if you look at the head, the head is too small and looks like it was shrunk down, the body is also not that of a lion, it’s the body of a jackal. Many believe the sphinx was originally a giant jackal statue which would make sense considering the body and size of the head. Also, the sphinx is eroded away. Look at the body and the walls around it, it takes thousands of years to get that level of erosion, making the sphinx thousands of years older than thought. Also, there are ancient carvings in the americas that date back to the time of the pyramids or before, that show ancient astronauts. The most famous of which is mayan.

Supposedly a Pharaoh put his face on the sphinx, taking and claiming another's work as his own, a common thing back then as many temples and structures "recycled" older ones. I say "recycled" as most were demolished to erase the past pharaohs for whatever reason, usually political, and make the current one seem more better. At one point the sphinx was buried and only the head remained visible, where a young pharaoh slept under it and it talked to him, telling him to dig its body out of the sand and it would make him king, true to its word the pharaoh did become the next king and he built the Giza complex to honor the sphinx. that least that's what the tablet in between the sphinx's paws says.

More accurately, there are Mayan glyphs that resemble astronauts as well as aircraft and other images of modern tech. Despite their appearance, though, and to the chagrin of many conspiracy theorists, they are chiseled carvings of animals and deities they held sacred... At least, that's what they told me in a dream, anyway.

The thing that a lot of people who believe in the ancient astronaut theory say does seem to hold water. A lot of Mayan carving do seem to show space suits masks or similar artifacts. That and there are some artifacts that date back well beyond what science claims they should have been.

There isn't a question on whether the guide stones will ever be rebuilt. They won't. There is so much that didn't get covered in this video about them. From the strange way they were constructed, how they got financed, the fact they were blown up then completely torn down the same FREAKING DAY (even those portions undamaged by the explosion). No preserving the crime scene... no preserving evidence. And most baffling of all? No Federal investigation of the incident. The fact that an explosive was used should have automatically triggered investigations by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and *EXPLOSIVES* and the FBI. You sure would think they would be interested in finding out who was out perpetrating a crime against the NWO or who at the very least was out joy-bombing and how had they had gotten access to explosives!? As the site was being maintained by the county, it made it destruction of building with a minimum sentence of two decades. The fact that explosives were used and it could be construed as a hate crime, possibly made it a Federal crime. But did the ATF or FBI care to investigate? Naw, they were too busy walking over the constitutional rights of Americans to even notice. The land was quietly transferred back to the original owner and the granite given away, finishing the sweeping of the entire incident under the rug.

Please don't confuse the movie depiction of the Knights Templar with the english knights during the same time. The english had also the big red cross on a white background, as the english flag looks the same. The templars' cross was smaler, and some of them had black and white shields. But then again, there were many different branches and symbols change over time. (I ONLY talked about the high medival petriod. NOT the late one!) For those, who want to debunk the flag one that: UK's flag "Union Jack" is build from the flags of Schottland (white X, blue back) England (said red cross oa white back) and Ireland (red X, white back)
