Polydactylism is actually very common in cats. On top of that, one of Disney Channel's best shows, Gravity Falls, had a main character (despite not officially meeting him until season 2) with the condition, and a series of journals he wrote all have a bit of gold leaf cut into the shape of his hand on the cover.

I'm very familiar with Joseph Merrik, to me calling him the "elephant man" is completely disrespectful. Though his appearance was strange he was a human being who was seriously bullied and taken advantage of. Joseph was a human being, with feelings and a heart of gold. Your looks don't make you, your personality does.

These were absolutely fantastic and kindly presented too 😊 Two of my conditions are tight connective tissue disease, EDS featured here is a loose version of CTD. When you said he got muscle pain I thought well at least he'll be able to reach it to put a muscle rub on! Tree Man syndrome I heard about yesterday for the first time ever, this is the first time I've ever seen footage of it, that's absolutely brutal and prevents the most basic of human needs to be carried out. I understood it to be genetic so that mans children are at risk of developing it. The human body is amazing as are the conditions that affect and afflict it 🙁❤️

I have HEDS, but I only have crippling pain, intense fatigue, cardiac problems, autonomic dysfunction, slow healing, and GI issues instead of cool superpowers, lol. Like, sure, I am more flexible than the average person, but I can't even do the splits and rely on a rollator and/or wheelchair to go outside. I need 14 hours of sleep to remotely function, spend most of my day in bed/on the couch, and had to drop out of uni. HEDS really isn't fun. It seems like he only got the good side of the disorder 😅
@savy7555
@savy7555 Жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking. I have just regular Hyper-mobility disorder and I've tried to do his stunts but my joints stretch then won't come un-stretch, it's like they lock up and I have message them back and my joints make popping and creaking sounds all the time. I've been told it's creepy and most people hate the sounds. Happy someone else understands 😊
@KDragoness
@KDragoness Жыл бұрын
I have hEDS as well and was thinking the exact same thing. I am definitely hypermobile and have a few "party tricks" I can do but doing them causes more damage to my collagen so I don't do them (often) anymore. But yeah, pain, fatigue, GI stuff, migraines, nosebleeds, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD POTS, dysautonomia, MCAS, sleep issues, wounds and injuries not healing, lots of bruising, cercical instability, random deficiencies, allergies, constant injuries, my joints just sliding around inside me making a lot of noise and pain- NOT FUN. I had to drop out of school when I was 16 due to all of this, and it's only worsening for me. I am also in a wheelchair because I can't walk more than a few steps. It sucks but sometimes it is nice to grab something from under the car seat by reaching backwards. I just hope the person in the video isn't doing major damage to himself doing all of this

hEDS is quite debilitating at times. I have pain in many of my joints daily. When I stretch, I usually pop at least five joints. I have scars all over my body, from things as insignificant as cat scratches and mosquito bites. It seems weird, since my c-section scar doesn’t actually show up any more than usual. Anyway, I can’t do super crazy stuff with my body parts, but I do have a history of freaking people out by showing things like my elbows that bend backwards a bit. I was only diagnosed at 36, but until then, I was constantly accused of making up various ailments, which, for the record, I have never done.

I would have loved to spend a few hours with the folks having hypertrichosis, especially 'Lionel'. His hair looked so soft. And the jokester playing top half in the magicians show - what a HOOT! But moving on, I used to be 'supercharged' too. Something about acidity and dryness, developed it at puberty. I used avoid touching people even in humid air for fear of giving/getting a shock. I could get a shock off a wet washcloth! Metal stuck to me; I could cause lamp chain to sway (without touching the table it was on) Thank God that ended at around 40 y/o.

My relatives live near Dede Koswara in Bandung Indonesia. I remember back when I was 8years old,I met this guy when I'm visiting my relatives, if I remember correctly,his condition is not yet look like in these photos. More like a burned skin with bubbly things. Even my aunt said it's because his house was accidentally burned down. Turns out it's a rare medical condition.
