i bought a steam deck and almost completely stopped using my several thousand dollar gaming pc as a result. gaming is just so much more fun in a small, portable package, instead of on a giant machine that encompasses your entire field of vision

Keep in mind beamNG is still under heavy development, and performance is far too inconsistent for it to be a benchmark game. The developers have a lot more to do before they're ready for final optimization (which i eagerly await). Driver version and game patch often make more impact than hardware does. My 6600xt and Ryzen 3600 sometimes give me 60fps on ultra settings, sometimes wavers around 45 on settings that should be easier. If beamNG is misbehaving, I check for updates to both the game and my drivers, clear the shader cache via the GPU utility, and I like to see how the game performs with Vulkan. Thankfully I've never had to fully reinstall the game

@@MrHurricaneFloyd I play the deck docked and 1080p is playable for a lot of games. I just beat COD WW2 with medium/low settings, 1080p on the deck.

Yes, of course. Small island map is a ‘mod’ / map. Mods work though, some of my vids im using the crash dummy i think

SSD. Probably yes, it does a lot of caching on load. Big SSDs are cheap enough

Yeah it does run a little slower on a sd card especially when you load up a map or car for the first time

@@NoReverse77 even with a big OC on the deck you will see at most 20% better performance and for that you have to physically mod it for better cooling.
