Only true YBR viewers know this, but he lost a bet so he had to play Minecraft on stream a long time ago, and when he got an achievement the game said something like “RyanYates has gotten the achievement (open inventory)” and people went crazy. He also confirmed this later, when he said that his username came from his initials spelled backwards, hence YBR. He then also noticed all of them were words, so he made WhyBeAre. So yes, his name is Ryan Yates.

What is Ryan?

Ryan is YBR's first name. He revealed it to us, whether it be on purpose or on accident, when he lost a bet and he had to make a Minecraft video, and, unedited, upload it to KZbin. He got an achievement, and it said "Ryan Yates got an achievement." We knew prior to this that his KZbin name was his initials backwards, so people were able to put two and two together and now we know that YBR's name is Ryan B. Yates. We have yet to find out what the B stands for, though we will likely never know.
