BeamNG JAKE BRAKE Demo + Compilation! Detroit Diesel + Cummins! Bus Mod 2/27/21

Yo, I've wanted jake brakes in BeamNG for a while now, and I know yo boy's not alone! It took hours and hours of going through the game code, but I finally created a working jake brake, with sound of course lol! O_O This mod uses a script to increase engine braking when a key is pressed, and includes a modified combustionEngine (a core file) to play an extra engine sound when the jakes are toggled! 🚌🔊 And yes, the T-Series (semi truck) will be next!
Mah boys, let's start with a simple demo of how to toggle the jakes, and what it does to the engine brake torque! Then, we're gonna jump right into some juicy highway and downhill maps! We'll see how the jakes do on different powertrains (with matching sounds of course), using engine + transmission combos from my bus mod! NOW WITHOUT FURTHER ADO 👀...

This sounds too real🥴👻" XDDD and you bet, in fact I was test driving the truck last night... the manual transmissions are kinda weird in this game tho, so still tryna figure it out for the jakes 😃

@@GarbageSean Yep! Well the truck is fictional but based off the International 9300, the engine is also fictional but you already know I can make it sound like a M11 or S60 lol! And the transmission is a 12-speed manual or 10-speed auto

i have somehow made a drift DT40L with using drift tires and removing the back seats and giving it 1000 hp or 3000 hp

@@pzindy7673 No prob! For BeamNG, I mostly learned on my own; it is a lot of trial and error especially when pulling sounds from KZbin! Once you find or edit good sound samples (2+ secs of constant RPM, no static noise), you must RPM match them; I spawn a car in-game with the same # of cylinder engine and rev it up until the pitch matches each sound sample, and write down the RPM! After you have RPM-matched samples, it's much easier, you just need to follow the soundConfig and sfxBlend2D.json sections outlined here: wiki.beamng.com/Sound And BTW Audacity has a great set of effects for editing engine sounds!
