Beams for the outrigger, rigid, light and too strong? DIY sailing kayak project.

This time I continue on my DIY sailing kayak and add beams for the pontoons. These beams are water tight, light, strong and rigid. By putting most material in the ends I add bending strength and reduce weight compared to solid beams. With glass fiber and epoxy I get watertight beams with extra strength.

My first thought was to get about 3m2 of sail (about 32 ft2), 1 m2 as a jib and 2 m2 as a fat head main. I tried to get a sail maker to do them for me but it was a too small and difficult job for them, I think? Now it looks like I will have to make them by myself. I am rather sure it won't be pretty, but it might make a good video. It will not be a lug sail or a plain bermuda sail as I want to get experiences from a new sail form. An asymmetric spinnaker might be a fun later experiment but I am not sure how to set up that on a Günter rigg? Perhaps you saw me do the mast? kzbin.info/www/bejne/npmsn6eLqrOMe7M

@@sailoutofagarage6212 I think you will do a fine job on the sails I like to cut them out of old used sails there already foil shaped . I was joking about the spinnaker. And foil shape only matters if plan on getting wet I have found that paddle sailing is the best way to go up wind and stay dry . Wait till those out riggers start shipping water like a catamaran, constant spray in the face . and then the wind dies ,and your ready to throw off the two sea anchors , been there . and then she turtles 🐢 how long is the dry suit good for. Yet to see a self rescue three times jib related 🤔 you should try a falcon sails style first. Have you watched everglades challenge yet if not then it's a most.
