Great video! I read in a forum somewhere that the "shorty" cable solves 75% of the Blaster cable brake problems. That and keeping the caliper clean. Thank you for this "how to" upload.

Been using this video for a while. The parts that came out before the pads took a year to soak. Been using no brakes for a bit. Lmao 😂

i was rebuilding my rear caliper and shattered the plate guide, they dont make or sell that part anymore. how could i get one fabricated or what could i use to substitute for this part? this was the part # 2xj-25689-00-00. its # 16 in a part diagram. i cant seem to find a blue print or a schematics for it to even take into a tool and die shop, or a machine shop. are there any substitute parts or an alternative part# to order from?

I have a faulty identical brake calliper to the one In this video, I can’t find a replacement anywhere and the original blaster callipers don’t look like they’ll fit neither
@jasonwiley6853 жыл бұрын
@@Ruben-vo5sp i did manage to find a working complete caliper replacement. best is to upgrade to hydraulic brakes....they will work much better than basic cable brakes...they do cost more and are an easy enough to install

@johnnyg51293 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, just picked up the blaster and am in the process of fixing the rear brake. My question is the rubber boot covers on the sides on the rotors are they greased at all? Or are they just on the axle dry? Probably a dumb question.

Hello. at 9:56, that metal threaded bit which connects the cable to the caliper snapped in half and part of it is stuck in the caliper. I've removed the rest of the cable but I cant put a new one in with the broken piece there. What can I do to remove it?
@beano528 жыл бұрын
You might try "wedging" some needle nose pliers or maybe a screwdriver in to twist it out, Good Luck !

See in the video 17:45 and make sure you have this adjusted out so everything spins freely, then slowly work it in, tightening the brakes. Good Luck !

what can i do if i need the o-rings? cant seem to find them anywhere?
@beano525 жыл бұрын
Ouch, my pads came with new o-rings. Honestly, I'd check a plumbing supply house (or maybe an automotive), they normally sell individual o-rings in a zillion miscellaneous sizes. Best of luck !

What's the difference between the old cable and the new one u put in?
@beano528 жыл бұрын
The "old" or factory original cable runs from the handlebar brake lever to the rear foot brake pedal to the rear caliber. The "new" "shorty cable" eliminates the cable between the handlebar lever and the foot pedal, leaving you with just a cable between the foot pedal and the caliper. This cable for the front handlebar is used for the parking brake.
