The inspiration was the emancipation of unkraine from russia. Lasha Tumbai (which isnt even a word in any language) was the politically correct title for the song but if you listen to it closely he says Russia Goodbye

This is such a noodling for the ears.... The Rashists came up with all this, because Verka was a superstar at that time, including in the Orkostan itself.
