The prices are tourist prices for London - go out in to the country for better prices, further north you go, the more reasonable the cost (because the tourists rarely get out of London). There will be a few isolated place like York that will get more expensive (tourism also), but they don't reach the high cost of London. The most English dish was the sandwich!
