Yup, this is 100% Haitian Konpa..The producer who made the song is Haitian.

But the rythm IS 100% Zouk. Zouk and Kompa are very similar but with litlle différences .

@@celinelg700 Zouk comes from Kadans and Konpa (and some other influences). Webert Sicot was in the same group of the inventor of Konpa Direct Neymours Jean-Baptiste. Webert Sicot left their group and made that alternative to Konpa wich was Kadans (Kadans Rampa i believe). That's old as the 50's and 60's. Then they both had a lot of mutual influences (adding other musics). At some point in the 80's, Kadans (Kadans-Lipso ? ) came to be called Zouk after Kassav's Zouk Béton. First Zouk Béton was pretty different, but Zouk Love always sounded very similar to some Konpa (given that konpa has a great variety between Konpa Direk, Konpa Digital, Konpa zile, Konpa Love, Konpa Gouyad...). When this would be called zouk later : kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnmpe6GKrrCKmK8 Kompa had elements of rythms and guitar arpeges that would be used in Gouyad and Zouk Love kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpncp3ikituKoac although they were more complexe.

Thanks for this reaction 🤍 Currently French people try to put down Aya because our president asked her if she can sing for the Olympic game and the racist white french say that she isn’t French ( + black ) so she doesn’t have the right to sing on the OG + they said “ we are in paris no in the market of bamako” . Yes, Aya is French. She sings in French but even here in France the majority of people don't understand what she says because she speaks the slang of the gethos where she comes from. She gets a lot of criticism for that.
