Everyone should be outraged by this. I live in bear/cougar country. Elk all around too. I've had two black bears in my yard. I'm very watchful before ever stepping foot out my front door. I expect animal encounters so when they do happen I'm not surprised. Living in bear country you better pay attention. Especially with black bears around with cubs. A mother black bear will rip you apart for just getting too close to her cubs. They don't bluff charge.

That’s sad. Mama bear protecting and providing food for her cubs. She doesn’t know what city limits are: she’s just trying to feed her cubs. Even she did attack a human, she doesn’t deserve to be killed. They could have relocated her to a more distant area. We are the ones encroaching on their habitat and threatening their security, not the other way around. Humans are so horrible and selfish, no wonder we are losing the war towards protecting the environment, which by the way, includes its natural inhabitants… they can easily spend some money, creating an alert system when large beds are in the area, whether with cameras or implanting chips on them, but no, we have to do it the brutal, easy way by simply killing them… WE are the animals here!

This has been an ongoing issue for a long time, and was really highlighted in 1967 by the tragedy with the grizzlies in Glacier National Park, which caused a big change in the National Park Service. Arguably more space and resources were available to them then vs now. Yes, they were looking for easy access to food because of terrible human habits. They aren’t stupid. There's so many bears, how do they know which one did the biting?
@ellenfarmer34982 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Other sources say it happened within seconds, liar woman did not even get a good look at the bear, how could she punch it in the nose, if she didn't see it?

So sad the Mom had to be killed. Humans cause so much destruction to nature and wildlife. Glad the women and her dog are ok.

Who was the coward who put this bear down. He should be brought up on charges for animal cruelty.
