Been carving for a few years myself and this is such a great blockout video. Personally I struggle to blockout some things. Rewatched this again and, oh yea I keep missing “that cut”. Thanks Dave
@allnaturaledgedesigns3 ай бұрын
@@zeuscash7830 keep it up, it's all just a pattern ( every sculpture)and I watched.my mentor block out many different subjects 15yrs ago until I understood it, once you learn the pattern it becomes intuitive then you can start shaving time off to make yourself get faster and faster, then you can spend more time on the details and hopefully make lasting quality sculptures. Good job and good luck

Thank you I started as a hand Carver and I have fallen in love with chainsaw carving as you can get so much more accomplished in a shorter time and use a chainsaw to shape any part of a sculpture that is what my channel is mostly dedicated to along with milling and live Edge furniture

@@allnaturaledgedesigns will do. Just finished my third bear. Each way better than the last. Im 100% committed to this. At 63, I've wanted to carve for decades, but i never found the time- or money. So glad to have these tutorials. They got me up off the couch and literally my new found carving has saved my life, keeping me from rotting away. Passion. Hope. Dreams. All are coming back to me... Hello sir yes I used to all the time as funny as it sounds over the years you've become able to predict what is dangerous and not after logging over 15,000 hours with a chainsaw I can pretty much yes when things are going to hit me or become dangerous so certain things I do but in a project like this I've learned how to hold the saw so that I do not become affected some of my upcoming projects I will be wearing a respirator as I just got a new one:)
@cornflakeusa Жыл бұрын
I hope I'm wrong but when you get so comfortable with any type of saw that you start using one hand, that's when it will bite you. Nice bear though.
