I assume that it’s maybe fall or winter? Because there is no way in God‘s green earth that I would be in that area in high grass in the summer or spring. There’s more snakes out there than there are people in Houston. They just overflow out there. You are a brave man!

Digging these videos. I like to go find places like this using old maps too. In my experience mounds like that are left over usually from the demolition. One of the tell tale signs that you've found something.

Thanks. I like to wander around out there but I can only do it in the winter. To hot in the summer.

@@stanthereservoirrat5934 I bet! I've visited my sister in Houston so I know what it's like. These videos definitely make me want to get an e-bike for exploring. I have an adventure motorcycle right now, which is great, but it's not so stealthy.

Have seen the old abandoned Hwy 6 bridge, it was left in the woods after Hwy6 got straightened and moved over slightly.

Stan maybe the deep freeze 2 years ago got it? I think it would have fewer limbs left if it was from the drought 10 years ago.

Really enjoyed the video! I don't guess there is any place nearby to safely park a vehicle to explore the old gun club site?
@stanthereservoirrat5934 Жыл бұрын
Yes! If you are heading north on hiway 6, just as you come over the levy, there is a pull out on the right. Park there. Go thru around the gate (it's legal). Then head north, go thru the clearing where the power lines are. It's right there where the woods start again.
@randallalan4221 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Stan for the reply! I have parked at Bush Park and walked along Buffalo Bayou in the past and found one old farm-home site and what I think is an old roadbed. Those live oak trees don't like standing high water for long and sadly that's what killed them. Never knew about the gun clubs...if that section of woods could only speak think of the stories they could tell! @@stanthereservoirrat5934

7:15 theres something under the mound. What is it?
@stanthereservoirrat5934 Жыл бұрын
After talking to a few people, I believe the remains of the building is under the mound. They tore down all the buildings when they made the reservoir.
