Cameraman wouldn't have helped them You better not go near bear cubs when their mama is around and the guys filming this know this better than us. Even though his intentions are good,mommy bear will consider him as a threat to her kids and won't hesitate to kill him.

Just don't get between a mother & her cubs, you will find out quick that they're so cute, I live in Alaska & she would maul you to death, they're wild animals I have great respect for 🐻 s, especially kodiak brown 🐻 s the largest in the world, have lived in kodiak & seen up close they're huge & in 75 yrs only one person has been killed by a Kodiak brown 🐻 they are not a grizzly bear, oops sorry about that you have an awesome day

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but some of these wildlife videos are so overdramatized they insult the viewer....and the animal. The mom wasn’t worried or frantic, most likely she was using the situation to teach her cubs how to swim and to experience tides. If one got in trouble, she’d walk out, pick it up and carry it out in her mouth.

Here's my essential problem with this segment, a problem that might exist throughout. Unless the program is specifically targeted to young children in an effort to pique their interest in natural history, I see no audience benefit in giving animals names. Unfortunately, with the anthropomorphic and cozy 'name calling' firmly planted, I can't help but wonder if there's another issue. Namely, the narrative. Was the mother negligent in sleeping through part of the flow tide, stranding her cubs and endangering their lives? Or was she putting her offspring through just one of many 'learn by doing' exercises, testing their strength, stamina, bravery and resolve? I don't know. It's an equally likely situation.
