The proper way is by dampening the beard slightly then tap with towel, then applying shave gel or cream and then using a comb to straighten the hairs, after that you just have to carefully place it how you prefer ans gently use a trimmer or razor to the desired level, lastly use a straight cut razor thinly to finish up the perfect line

I used a beard shapin tool on mine, and never could get my cheek lines to match. one was more rounded than the other, not lined up right, or just off in general. if you can get your beard to come out w nice sharp lines, and edges, after usin a beard shapin tool, then I’m pretty sure you’d have the same result w outta beard shapin tool.

I hate those shitty tools, they are just wrong. It you want a guide because you can’t quite get symmetry and get it cheap, blue masking tape. Top of your ear to the corner of mouth or to the middle of your chin. You’ll quickly get that lined up and just need to maintain that line.

I have this. I found I wasn't really a fan of its intended shape though, as I found I like my cheek line to be higher and straighter. When I use this now, I use the straight bit instead of the curve, to get my lines done.

You just have to put it higher , way higher than the ear at the angle you like . You can use a marker to mark the line you want , trim it first and the use a blade .

boliussa an andis t outliner is just your original liner basically. It leaves very smooth and crisp lines. You can zero gap the blade which means adjusting the blade to cut even closer than its factory settings. All dependent on if you’re using it on a child or an adult, tough skin or sensitive skin. I have never used any wahls but I hear the wahl detailers are nice. I’ve only used the andis t outliner and the andis styliner 2 which is definitely one of my favorites. Hits hard, deep tooth blade and the housing (casing) which allows for longer use without getting as hot compress to t out liner. Just buy and try different professional outliners such as andis and wahl. Rather than coming down on your beard angle device I would try using the edge of the blade to go with the contour. Then use a straight razor. Any other way will leave it choppy. I like to let my barber do it then I will use my liner and straight razor later that week to re touch it up before the actual line grows back in
