Cosmic Mario is one I heavily adored upon his return. His original variations terrified me as a younger self, and now understanding the principle of this soulless character, I can safely say that I adore him. An unexpected but great return if I can say so myself.

Though I do believe that the robo bowser is suppose to be a reference to the first Mario game boss fights with there being the axe in the end is replace with the robot.

The bosses weren't really what I expected. I really thought they were going to bring back the OG bosses from the original NSMB game. Not to mention that you don’t fight Kamek. Anyhow, it looks OK and I don’t think Nintendo would hesitate to make another side scrolling Mario game.

The only "bosses" you fight are bowser Jr. And Bowser, the other encounters are just you running away from them. Running away isn't a boss fight.

Glad we all agree the boss fights in this game suck, but I think the Bowser fight is the exception that proves the rule. Easily one of the best in a 2d Mario game, I wish they were that creative with the rest of the bosses

It wuold have been cool that instead of all fights being an simple koopaling battle where the scenary is diferent’ bowser jr should have the transformation habilita that the heroes use bassically that in the third fight he used he started walking in the wall using his classic set of attacks but it’s in all directions or in the fourth fight he used the ability to make his body long in the backgrounds having the opportunity to it I’m in is head wen his head part wen that part of the body that have’s the head is spins but the player have’s to give attention to the background cuz the head doesn’t show up wen cuz he is a shadow now

The final boss, design-wise, should have been the first boss. This game is great but it's hardly challenging or engaging and instead focses solely on spectacle.
