The descriptions in Smash don't convince me at all: the ReDeads in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are obviously zombies. They probably preferred to make them clay golems to censor the theme of death, anyway I find that Dark Fantasy has been extremely reduced in Zelda games after Twilight Princess.

I would like to add a note, dark fantasy has been reduced except perhaps the gloomy hands, those things are fastastically dark and deserve an honorific mention IMHO

I was hyped when I seen ReDeads make a comeback in Tears of The Kingdom, even when you turn up to Gerudo town when its been overrun by them. I was a bit bummed that they were renamed to 'Gibdos' (even though Gibdos were always mummies..) and that they were changed from Zombies to Bugs..

Growing up, the ReDeads scared the absolute hell out of me. When I first played OOT, it was a rental, and the file had me start as adult Link. I walk into the town and see hunched entities and then screaming. My brain did not associate the two initially. I thought instead that the screams were from off screen civilians being tortured or eaten by these bizarre looking zombie things.
