If I clip my dragans nails will he stop getting stuck on it cause when I first got him it wasn't a problem and now he's bigger and his nails are longer so he can barely move

Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "do bearded dragons have teeth?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Tiyndrew Bewildering Tip - (do a google search )? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to care for your bearded dragon minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.

I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL I CAME ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL ABOUT 4 HOURS AGO AND I HAVE BEEN BING WATCHING IT EVER SINCE LOL. I have tried almost every substrate I found sand is what she likes the most. I hand feed her so it hasnt harmed her. So one day I used newspaper and paper towels she was not happy lol! When I woke up I went to wake her up and all the paper was tore it up everywhere. I resucued her so she had a horrible set up and has missing claws and toes so I just want to spoil her and make her happy. She is about ten years old now.

Here's a tip for ya: use Ayers Rock clay/loam (Australian "dirt" ), mix it with ReptiFresh (trust me, that one helps again kaka smells) and cheap sand that you use to fill up kid's sandboxes outside (that sand is filtered and contains no harmful bacteria, yet it's cheap). Mix all with water, dump it in the enclosure, shape it, let it dry and... done. It gives your reptiles a chance to dig without everything collapsing on them, as deep as they can or want, it files their nails down just enough and the risk of impaction is almost none existent (under normal use, of course). Does it need changing? Of course it does, just like any other substrate. But if you keep yourself on top of things (clean up behind your reptile), it can last a long time AND it looks damn good too. Specially the red color, which is native for beardies. :) Cheers.

My baby beardie (about 2-3 months old now) has the sand repticarpet right now, but it's cut to fit the tank perfectly to reduce the chance of her snagging a nail on it and I keep a very close eye on her as I'm home all day. Cleaning it, for the most part, is pretty easy, except for getting the stuff that's a little more in there. The nice thing is you can replace it. Because she's only in a 20 because of her size, it's not expensive to replace. I've only had to do it once, and I didn't really have to, I chose to because I'm a neurotic beardie owner. But anyway, that's my two cents on the sand carpet. The other nice thing about it is I've never noticed any of the sand coming off of it. It stays really clean and in place, which was my main concern while she's young.

I personally find that sand carpet is not as hard to clean as repticarpet but when you scrub the area that they went on, the little textured parts fall off, and they tend to stain. But I’ve been pretty happy with that substrate, but I’m adding a small box with ecoearth. But my bearded dragon personally goes to the bathroom on his log basking spot. Which makes for easy cleaning because I just take out the log and scrub it :).

top soils the best, more natural, rarely causes compaction since it’s not quite as loose as sand, looks nice and is 100% natural, I’ll probably just stick to paper towels tho tbh lmao.

Excellent video. Very informative. I'm still a little afraid of taking Oliver out of the Viv... he's about 4 months old and he hisses at me if I try to pick him up. I'm not sure what to do about that. I have ceramic tile and I love the idea of doing the burrow box. I'll try it when I upgrade the Viv. :)

Could you do a video on how to put tile into a bearded dragon tank? I want to use it since I'm getting a beardie soon, but I have no idea how I would put it into the viv! I've had loads of reptiles before but beardies and substrate was such a heated topic I just want my new little one to be safe from impaction.

Is it possible to use fleece material for substrate (like one big piece to line the whole bottom of the tank)? I think it would just be super easy to clean it, throw it in the washing machine and its clean. Is it a good idea to use fleece and just put a new one every time you clean it or would this be a bad idea?

Better to avoid loose substrate if you’re not an experienced owner because they do ingest it and can become impacted and they’ll die. That, or you’ll have a fat vet bill. They live on compacted clay in the wild, not beach like sand.
