Hey, I am building two tanks at the moment.. The front sliding door is easy. You can buy the plastic runners from hardware store. Bunnings have them in brown or white. My runners are on pine so they simple glue to the top bottom and sides. I just used wood glue and hold them with clamps till the glue dries. I am sure they must make the slides to go onto glass edges as well, I just don't know where to source them from. Then just order the required size of glass from a glazier.

lol, should've put this in one comment. but whilst this is a truly impressive and lovely tank and attempt at a 'natural' habitat, the aussie desert is actually sand, grass, and wood. quite a bit of grass even.

@greenizDAnublaque you would be best to get an arcadia 12% d3 fluorescent tube for UVB/UVA. a lamp that emits lots of heat and a holder for that. that's pretty much it for a standard set up :) hope i'm not too late in answering.

@trentburby7053
@trentburby7053 8 жыл бұрын
Umm I would probably have a couple fake or real cactuses with some colorfully and neatly places plants for decoration. Also I would cut out a spot in the habitat and have a little bit of a pond area so that the bearded dragon would have a place to soak or something like a little exoterra waterfall to bring in a nice eyecatcher. Just needs a little color and gardening on the sides or bottom is all.😊
@TheDnbspecial
@TheDnbspecial 15 жыл бұрын
4 x 2 x 3 would be a great size and u could get a pair. I*d feed roughly 1ce a week crickets and rest of the week lecttuce with fruits (no cores). Put a proper UVA / UBA tube light in there and 2 heating spot 2 secure the temp. should be about 30°C / i thinks like about 90 F (optional an additional UVA /B light with full spectrum ) back of the tank is simple 2 do just use 16 chipboard make a box and screw it well.

Absolutely amazing job, well done. this makes me want to do mine. i got two beardies, obviously foam is weak does the plaster give it strength, looks or both. in your tank you have a middle bit, i thought it would be a good idea to do the same but put a separator to split the tank (my tank is L:140cm x H:67cm x W:56cm so its big enough). i like your set up and you have gave me good ideas, thanks for posting :)

now that I think of it. If most of there diet is greens that means there has to be a water source around to grow the vegetation. so there may be a small waterfall.

For bearded dragons a lot of people suggest not using a waterfall in their tank because it will increase the humidity to much and can cause a respiratory infection

@richieestrada24 simple carv some styrofoam boards to the shape u like or add several 2 1 piece to get a thicker 1 then make a hole in the wall so that the piece will tightly fit in there. Sometimes i used screws to temporallily fix them, then add plaster to the joints where the pieces meet then after drying coat the rest with plaster ... use a thin layer to avoid losing the textures. AJ
@TheDnbspecial

@tallasshaq Read the discription pls all lights r listed. It takes approx 2 hours in the morning 2 heat up. No u can NOT use normal lights for the primary light because UVA/UVB is missin in those lamps. U can use the light for lightin up the tank and make it a lil brighter. 450W r required 2 heat up the tank but it varies by 150W depending on the sessons ... the tank is made by myself if u have any further question feel free 2 ask ... AJ

@KuchikiJ It takes a lot of time but its worth it when the dragons come around 2 look what ur doing in their cage ;) or try 2 eat the sieve :D well anyway its kinda fun and i don't mind the cleaning cause of all that. There's a lil trick 2 get the rocks clean and keep em that way, just put 1/2 inch thick layer of sand .... so it isn't directly on the rock when they poo ... Hope that helps ;) AJ
@TheDnbspecial
@TheDnbspecial 13 жыл бұрын
@KuchikiJ The tank is made all by myself. All you need is avaidable in the hardware store. Styrofoam plates/shields from 10mm thickness up to 30mm. Plaster to coat the whole structure. It's improtant to go over the plaster before it's entirely dry, by doing this you'll get a nice rocklike structure and the surface will be rough enough for the dragons to climb it. Just make sure ur not making to large piece 'climbable' to avoid the dragons to slip and fall from a large heights.Hope this helps. AJ
@TheDnbspecial
@TheDnbspecial 15 жыл бұрын
Then use Styrofoam as material 2 create rocklike image, simply use a sharp nice 2 scratch the styrofoam 2 geht a good natural look and insert some caves and many spots underneath the heating spot ... so slightly shifted 2 create some medium warm zones under the spot then coat with the hole thing with plaster plaster give more difficult 2 use but gets a real nice look and texture and paint it playtoy paint ! no normal colour as they will harm ! your animal .
@TheDnbspecial
@TheDnbspecial 15 жыл бұрын
Then heat the tank 4 at least 3 days 2 see if the temp is right (cool area and warm zone) and then put the animal in, as even non-toxic paint is still evaporate a small amount of solvents. hope i could answer all u*r questions and hopefully see soon your vid =) AJ

@bballer1201 Use Styrofoam as material 2 create rocklike image, simply use a sharp knife 2 scratch the styrofoam 2 get a good natural look and insert some caves, then use plaster and toy paint to do the finish.
