I don't know but I think she forgot to say how to take them a bath. - make the water warm. - don't put soap or anything just water. - make them swim around then they will poop. - water needs or can be up to your nuckles. - when there done put them on a towel to dry them. That how to give them bath your welcome :3

As it should be. When we take an animal into our homes, we have to really care for them. Which is yet another reason I love your channel and the work you do. For me, I have a couple of cockatiels that live with me, and making them happy and comfortable, providing them with the best food (both seed mixes and special extruded feed), toys and lots and lots of love, they are, simply put, the ones that keep my life balanced and all the stress of daily life under control. I hope one day to convince my wife to let me get a couple of Lorikeets. I have my eyes on either a blackcapped or a rainbow. Do you have any of those in AnimalWonders?

@dylank.86887 жыл бұрын
Some people find the whole concept of "beginner" reptiles misleading. I would have to agree. I don't think any exotic/non-domesticated animal should be described as a "beginner" level pet. As far as I'm concerned, all reptiles, and amphibians, start at intermediate and work their way up to "only a specialist should be keeping this species for the purposes of rehabilitation or preservation". A lot of these so-called "beginner reptiles" end up dead, unwanted, or in deplorable conditions because commercial pet stores pass them off as some kind of entry level species, that are even appropriate for children to keep. And on that note, I need to go feed my gecko now.
@garrettburrows4427 жыл бұрын
definitely not a beginner. most people that think having a dragon would be cool come to discover that are way to responsibility and either give up or don't properly take care of them and they die. it's nothing like a cat or dog theirs alot to contend

How could they have not been in written record until 1964? I know Australia is remote but it was well-explored before that.
@animalwondersmontana7 жыл бұрын
culwin I'm not an expert on Australian history and exploration, however from what I've researched their reptiles were not well documented until recently.
@excessionary7 жыл бұрын
My thinking is that a lot of it has to do with population and supply. Australia is roughly the same size as the United States, but we have less than 10% the human population. In addition, while our ecosystems run the gamut from tropical rain forest, to snowy peaks and deserts, the majority of our land mass is fairly hard to stay alive in. As such it's possible to travel over land, but hard to survive out there for extended periods of time unless you brought infrastructure with you. As for the bearded dragon, I'd guess that there might be older written records, but they may not have been part of recognized natural history texts. Just my guess.

I suspect that depends on the shape of their enclosure. For terrestrial animals, a minimum area and ceiling height makes more sense than a minimum volume.
@fagonfly7 жыл бұрын
Nillie A minimum area and ceiling height is the same thing as a minimum volume.
@MidoriFlygon7 жыл бұрын
not really. surface area/footprint is probably the most important factor. you can have a volume of 40 gallons in a thin tank that's really really tall. 40 gall is probably a better size than a 60 because the area is 36" x 18" while a 60 gall is 48" x 12". 12" is pretty thin for a fully grown 20" bearded dragon. the height is important as well due to the distance between the lights and the dragon. you need the lights as close as possible with little to no obstruction

you do not ever want to use a heat mat for a basking species... they sense temperatures by their heads and they can overheat themselves with heat mats. their bodies will warm up but their head won't warm up nearly as quickly and they won't realize they're too warm until they're far too hot

We have a couple of bearded dragons that visit every couple of weeks. Also a blue tongue. We have a bush scrub area just behind us and across the road. As well as a creek a few houses down. So despite living in suburban Brisbane (10 minutes from the city center) we get a fair few interesting visitors. The bearded dragons hang out on the rocks in our back yard and occasionally steal little pieces of our dogs food. They also have come up to our back door and peered in. It's almost like they are deliberately teasing our cat.
