This one is long overdue...we're at The City Cafe in Edinburgh today, doing battle with their 'Ultimate Burger Challenge'...
Now this thing has been around, in one form or another for over a decade, so I'm not sure why it took me so long to get around to attempting it, but you know what they say; better late than never...
Diners get 45 minutes in which to finish a huge burger filled with beef patties, chicken breast, bean patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles etc. as well as a basket of chips and a pot of coleslaw. If successful you get the £28 meal FREE plus a winner's sweatshirt!

I know that Edinburgh definately had a pizza shop which sells a 1 metre diameter pizza (albeit not a challenge), it also used to have another which did a 2 metre diameter pizza (again not a challenge), basically student party specials.

I’d love for you to start a food review channel !!!! That is what sets you apart from the other food challenge channels it’s your interaction with your audience, for sure you could get a lot quicker times but it’s the interaction with the restaurants staff/owners and customers that make your channel the best to watch. Wow many many years ago when I was student in Edinburgh this was the place that was always open late to get some food to soak up some of the booze.. It really hadn't changed.. I might pop in next time I'm up for the nostalgia.. And yes it was the 90s and it was rammed at 11:30 on a school night in those days.

Come on beard your not old and yes your getting older but your not old. I’d say compared to your fellow competitive eater’s which some are older and some younger that I follow,which is about 4 or 5 of you guys and girls and you’re still the favorite from my point of view. For me it’s the narrative during the course of the challenge and your’s is pretty much just getting down to business. The very pleasant demeanor and wit you add to your challenges plus l have to add, the British accent puts you right at the top l think, to your constantly rising and loyal fan base. I was travelling Edinburgh with my mates (I'm Canadian). We hadn't eaten all day so we went to this restaurant, and I got 2 orders of burgers and chips. We had a beer pong tournament in our hostel in about 30 minutes, so I wolfed it down and felt fueled up to achieve beer-pong domination. I was paired with this little Romanian girl who had to stop drinking after the third round, so I was drinking double. Made it all the way to the finals, got my ass kicked, and proceeded to puke both burgers up. Made it out to Hive that night, though.
