I dont recall her ever saying that. I def agree with the dissociating from trauma part. But from the references to morphine, the women's clinic, the gurney, the bruises, the "no intimacy for two weeks", and the sanitary pads -- and what we now know of her sexual assault(s) at this time in her life --- I think it can be inferred that she is alluding she had a "termination" in the facility. What made her a star was her refusal to be broken by these events. I see the scene in the car was her committing to rise from the (cars on ) fire... to marry the night/her darkness.

19:25 I love what she says about something like music being a motivation to get better and live. It makes me think of a cousin I have who got very hard into drugs because of how hard his home life was. The traditional advice is "life is so beautiful, you have family" etc but sometimes people can't see it that way and rightfully so. But if you find something you're passionate about like music (or whatever other passion, even things like cooking), it is very healing.
