My direct denton line founded Hempstead,long Islandny in mid 1640's. They also settled in northeast tn by south holston lake by 1777. Then our last 4 generations have lived off cherokee road above Lamar school. My grandma Bonnie ( Yates) Denton grew up back behind that Bumpus cove cemetery.
