We were so happy to find this place! I had to wash my jacket afterwards. We are probably closer in age than you think!

Nice to see it. I live in town and have driven by it many times.

I don't like that place because the animals are not living in good conditions. That being said, I enjoyed seeing the animals up close and personal. There's nothing like having bison breath in your face! 2 of them post up at the exit hoping for treats. Our windows were both down, being summertime and hot. It must've looked funny to see us - we were both as far to the middle as we could get, and both face to face with a massive head! It was a thrill I'll NEVER forget! If you go, I recommend taking a couple bags of carrots and the cheapest apples you can find. The grazers would appreciate it so much more than a piece of bread. Even the bears would. The people who work there don't pay too close of attention, and probably wouldn't do anything about it if they did notice. It's much healthier than bread.

Ah yes! Yes we certainly aren't used to seeing animals in captivity but they did seem to be well maintained to an extent. We'll be happy to bring fruit s and things like you said next time because they certainly seem to be tired of the bread

@@MichaelZuinoAndNatasha it's a nice area to visit with a lot to do in the area. Did you make the drive from nearby Port Angeles to Hurricane Ridge? The deer are very used to people and used to getting treats. I recommend taking a BIG bag of potato chips and you'll having them eating out of your hand. They love the salt. We stopped on a pullout on the drive up and hand fed a couple deer with potato chips. My mom and I fed them on a trip in 1970. It's certainly a beautiful drive up, and the views from Hurricane Ridge of the Olympic Mountains are simply spectacular. Lots of views of the Strait of Juan De Fuca and Vancouver Island coming down.

@@GuantanamoBayBarbie2 I, Michael, have been in the salad area for 5 plus years now and if never made it past sequim. I feel like so many people go to hurricane ridge and Port Angeles and especially forks and the Washington coastline but we haven't done that yet. We just need to make sure to wake up really early and go because sometimes getting there can be a three or four hour ordeal. We'll be happy to bring it by the chips with us :-). Did you notice any audio problems as well? We know the audio isn't the best but somebody else, saying that our audio was really bad

This is disgusting. Can’t wait until this place closes down. If you want to see bears, go into the wilderness and camp and hope to see one in its natural habitat. Support your national parks not these farms that make you believe that white bread is okay to throw into its diet every once in a while. You’re not immersing yourself in nature, you’re contributing to a a cycle of pathetic treatment.

Totally understand where you are coming from here. I know anything with animals in captivity is going to draw criticism. It is kind of said just to have car after car tossing then the same thing to where they look lethargic. Oh the other hand if they didn't get a safe place to live before they certainly have a fairly social setting now where they are provided for.

I don't recall seeing crowds like this, guys with bullhorns, or animals refusing bread. Must be peak season or something. I do not know who operates this, but I doubt it qualifies as a zoo where you can be sure the care is better. It also didn't seem all that safe for visitors, especially the elk and bison pen. Anyway, the llamas would operate like a tag team, one on each side of your car. As you fed one through the driver window, the other would chow down on the rest of your loaf sitting on the passenger seat.

It really was a busy time But it was still when many people had not been vaccinated yet so it was a way to get out and do it safely I guess. I want to hope the animals were cured for perfectly and hopefully they have more to eat than just bread
