I’m all for Odunze. He has tons of potential, has the it factor, and he seems to have his head on straight

Also it’s pretty safe to assume Keenan Allen is a one year rental. After this year we go straight back to the problem we had before the trade of “who are we throwing the ball to other than DJ Moore?”

I really don’t understand the bullshit Hoge keeps spouting about moving Wright to left tackle. Did he not see the difference between Wrights junior and senior years. He was terrible at left tackle then they moved him to the right tackle and all of a sudden he was great. Leave well enough alone.
@jeremyjohnson87659 ай бұрын
Very much agree with your opinion. Very much think you can express it without calling someone else’s opinion “bullshit” 🤣

Agreed. Wright was really good, not great, last year & he should only get better. Ease up
@flattailbob9 ай бұрын
@@jeremyjohnson8765 yea maybe calling his remarks bullshit was a bit strong but he’s supposed to base his statements on facts and knowledge. How the heck he can’t acknowledge Wrights poor left tackle play his junior year is beyond me. All these so called experts want to take a developing player and move him around just doesn’t make sense. Maybe a Whitehair with years of experience but not a Rookie. Maybe he should stick to special teams.
@StewMain69 ай бұрын
How about we just draft a guy to leave him at his natural position, right?! Wright can make a huge leap this year with the right coaching and work ethic at right tackle for us. I don’t see the Lions moving Penei to left tackle. You know why? Because he is a phenomenal right tackle

You guys continue to underrate Braxton Jones. He graded out higher than Darnell Wright in 2023,and seeing as he is Poles’ late round gem pick I don’t think Poles will want to move off of him. I don’t think any of the tackles other than Alt are a big enough upgrade over Jones to justify using the 9th pick on them. I could see DE or WR at 9 but OT is just not a need unless a really special one falls to us, and the only OT of that caliber in this class is Alt.

He’s far from perfect but coming from such a small school and going into his 3rd season I think he’s done pretty good for a 5th round pick. Listening to a lot of evaluators he’s got all the right tools. Give him some more time, he’s far from the biggest problem.

Brian Thomas Jr and Adonai Mitchell are franchise WRs. They can be your Chad Johnson, Stefon Diggs, Marvin Harrison Sr, Jerry Rice, Steve Smith, Randy Moss, and DJ Moore. Just because they are not Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, or Metcalf size doesn’t mean they can’t be franchise WRs. It’s best to trade down and get future picks or this year’s picks. Then make a trade for Jackson Powers-Johnson or Graham Barton to play center. Best to get your QB, WR, and center at the same time. And better yet, Best QB, Top 5 WR, and Top 2 Center in this draft. Just makes damn sense. You have to start now to get your team better, especially since you have 1 or 2 years with your rookie QB trying to learn the NFL way. You have to get a full decent team on both sides to make it to the Super Bowl, let alone win it. 1 receiver ain’t going to take us there. We need more pieces. Even if it’s not a great draft selection like others have mentioned, there are still players that can be better than our current players. At the end, you add talent, especially if they are better than what we have. That creates more opportunities for making plays. More plays made helps us win more. The goal is to make more plays than the other team.

Fishbain is correct. If there's a blue chip LT, DL, and WR Poles loves that are each avail at #9, imo just get the LT and don't look back. Caleb will adjust to speed of NFL much faster the more you commit to giving him a sturdy pocket. Loved his stat that the odds of discovering stud WRs are significantly better outside of the top 15 overall picks relative to OTs.

There are 4 players that should be on the radar for the bears at 9 that are worth not adding a second rounder. Alt, MHJ, Nabers, and Odunze. if all of them are gone, you trade back and maybe part with a mid round pick next year to make sure you can at least get a pass rusher and an offensive player to add depth to what is a pretty thin roster offensively. you aren’t getting a starter at 75. you might get a gadget WR, rotational IDL or IOL depth piece.

Flus be sitting here in the offseason like, "Hey Ryan, when do I get to pick one of my guys on D?" Loads of additons on offense and not much on the D. Thats why my bold prediction is the bears trading #9 back between 10 and 15 to recoup a 2nd rounder this year and they select Verse with the pick they traded back for.

You draft Caleb then trade for a ransom of picks. Odunze is great, but the Bears need to get better as a team not just one really good WR. The Texans played this same situation best they took the best QB and they took the best Defensive player in the draft (at least to me at the time) then spent 10 more picks making a winner. I mean you could draft Odunze, but I guarantee you will be doing next year what you should have now and after a year of eating sh!t you probable wont be as happy as you were when you took him

@@zonedout5998 I think there is alot of potential in this WR especially if they take Caleb. Even if they were to miss out on the Top 6 WRs I think guys like Xaiver Legette would make excellent Bears especially when you learn a bit about him on personal level. Then hypothetically if they were able to pick on guys like Beaux Limmer at Center and Justin Eboigbe at DL that would be an excellent base going into the future and all off of one pick. Of all the teams in the top 10 the Bears are probable the closest to turning it around. Man, that's going to be a competitive division.
