This is so inaccurate though. They paid Nate Davis a lot, they used a 1st Rd pick and like 5 picks total the last few years on the offensive line, they traded for Bates, they signed a Superbowl Champion center. They've invested, there's just been a lot of misses.

Justin Fields legs masked how bad the offensive line really was. Caleb is gonna have more issues then Fields, he's smaller and not as fast, same bad play calls and no offensive line. Fields wasn't the problem. Powers-Johnson was available for the bears at center to draft and they passed.

well we gave up likely playoff contention for a lottery ticket and it was media guys like these chumps that said we had to do it. Dealing with Favre and Rodgers made us desperate for a gunslinger at QB instead of becoming a winning team. Caleb may get there but it will be years before we find out because we still do not know how to build a team that will protect him. O-line should have been the priority no matter if it was going to be Caleb or Justin starting for us.

I question spending money on Swift at this point. I question the lack of true investment on the Oline, knowing the issues that have existed and been masked the last few seasons by the mobility and athleticism of Fields, making the run game easier for the running backs. Remove that, and the run game combined with the porous Oline looks bottom third (albeit 2 games into the season) I have an even bigger fear which is the lame duck HC being jettisoned again if the new OC they brought in can't figure out with his run game co-ord./Oline coach how to protect and improve from this point. If this ends up with yet another case of history repeating itself, the Bears will be back to square one yet again. They need to figure out how to do the basics on the Oline/with the run game this week and over this next 3 game stretch before they travel to London.
