Mine is a kitten so she has a lot of energy, still when she is sleepy she loves to be spoiled with cuddles and petting. She also lets me shake her paw when we play, and generally touch the soft part of her paws. The funniest thing is that, she has learned ti give nose kisses, so when she wants cuddles and i am distracted with the phone or a book, tv, etc, she walks up to my face and puts her nose against mine like saying " hey, leave what you are doing and pay me attention"

Don't give baths to cats other than medical indicated. ;-) That's why it is complaining always. And for the rest: It is all about compassion, bonding, deep understanding, trust. Don't rush on that point. And never, never give any negative feeling. Cat's feel what you feel. I mean, they can read your mind. They sense your energy (are you upset, chilly focussed and such) and your intention. So be clear and selfconscious. Learn from their ability to reflect your emotions and thoughts. Talk to them (not like children's playground you know), keep them always with you. They are companions. Sure they are allowed to say no (and this is what they really need to be sure about), say "I leave now" and be sure, you are always there to welcome them back. Cat love is unconditious.

I’ve a friend’s cat who is as relaxed as this and I realised it was because she has been doing it to him since he was a kitten. She would clean his nose, eyes, ears, paws etc training him to be relaxed since a young age. I had always thought she started too young because kittens are pretty clean but she said she wanted him to learn the motions and it paid off. Mine would yell bloody murder if I try combing his butt... 😩

So just leave its claws intact. Most likely claw is being cut too close or on the nerve which is somewhere in the middle of the claw. Equivalent to cutting your nails far into your nail bed. So leave its claws alone. Having a few scratching posts around and stern NO, OFF commands helps with keeping cat happy and off other surfaces. Animals remember who inflicts pain and might get fed up and attack in self defense.

Lol. Same. My last cat was super chill. I could lay him on his back like this cat and i could trim his nails, groom his belly, just do what ever. My current cat.....not so much. I can just about do his front nails but back nails, no way. I'm trying to get him used to it. He's an 8 yr old rescue so its a slow process
