This song is what made me realize I absolutely needed help. 24 years old and an absolute alcoholic, close to devoping alcoholic chirosis of the liver at a young age. I was drinking to black out every night and had even started drinking on my lunch break at work. Music is what speaks to me best. Thanks to this, I'm now 4 months sober and in therapy/rehab. I don’t have a drinking problem, however I have an addiction problem, and many addictions are all under the same principle and take the same parts of your life away and ruin your lives in the same way, but the way to become sober has the exact same steps and goals and forms. I’ve been using this to slowly become sober of my addictions this year and just now beginning to put my life back together and pick up the pieces of what once was, and this is one of the songs that got me not just to get help, but to have the motivation to become sober and fix my life for the better

When this song came out I was around 16 or 17 years old and so balls deep into my drinking addiction I couldn't go to school without being faded. I couldn't go into work without getting high so it would get me all active (I was fucking with a certain upper at the time) and by the end of my shift is get super shit faced so i could go to sleep due to my drug if choice. I spent so many years always fucked up but alcohol always had a hold of me. I'm close to a year sober of alcohol and a little over a year clean off heavy drugs and listening to this song takes me back to all the nights I used to spend crying wishing I could sober up. Hating the fact I was homeless and a full blown addict. Now when I listen to this song it reminds me of those days and reminds me to stay sober no matter what. I finally admitted that i have a problem .

My problem has never been alcoholism, but rather the damn bipolar disorder I've had since childhood that robs me of all my will to live. This is my "bottle," and it seems to want me dead, but I want to stay alive. The disorder that mixes peaks of euphoria, irritability, and impulsiveness with valleys of sadness, melancholy, and apathy has taken everything from me. My joy, my family moments, my relationship with God, my dreams, my energy, my performance at work... EVERYTHING! The only thing keeping me from ending it all is the people who love me and have invested their time and energy to help me. I'm truly "hands in the air" and hoping God is there because I don’t want to die, but I can’t stand living like this anymore. I really have a problem.

I finally got what he was doing at 3:21. The men wearing the black unitards were clearly meant to be people working "behind the scenes," but I never really took them to mean anything more than that. At 3:21, it's the second time the bassist's instrument's chord supposedly fell out. Caleb went over to yell at the people behind the scenes in order to blame them for something they couldn't have helped. The symbolism (which makes it perfect that he leads into "I don't know about you, but I'm admitting now that I have a problem) is in that he was yelling at people that were supposedly controlling his life, but never really placing the blame on the one person who caused the "chord" (symbolizing alcoholism) to have slipped: himself.

His screams are alot more raw than most bands of the same genre that's why I used to listen to attack attack. This isn't as heavy but it's more organized and thought out. I love reading the comments of people complaining about screams being in a screamo band.lol Listen to attack attack (not their old stuff) and you'll see he's been doing this awhile.
@themitchell11889 жыл бұрын
It's 2016 buddy. Every one has auto tune to some extent. If you want true raw vocals you'll have to listen to music that was recorded before vocal editing was a thing.

@landerpridgen951210 жыл бұрын
Reese Lance yeah but I don't really expect a lot of Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens fans to like Beartooth. It would be like if Animals As Leaders or Between the Buried and Me toured with Asking Alexandria, or if Every Time I Die toured with Issues. It's a really weird combination.

(I know this comment is a year old, but I figured I'd mention something) Caleb isn't "in" Beartooth. He *is* Beartooth. He writes everything, and he plays every instrument in-studio. Everything you hear is straight out of Caleb's mind. I think it's a great testament to his ability as a composer, performer, poet, and arranger. He is a staggering talent, and now he's only 24. He'll definitely end up as one of the greats.
