Marshall Town Mortar Bag VS Roughneck Mortar Gun I recently figured out to use either tool u need to add some sorta stuff that makes the mortar slippery,,,in my case washing up liquid,,cheap and cheerful,, It quickly was game over for the roughneck gun,, the mortar bag appears to be miles ahead of the mortar gun so far ,, I havent tested in real world conditions,, the marshall town bag is much easier to load ,,very little mess ,,and super easy to clean up

How much dish soap do you use

there is some controversial info out there saying not to use it as it possibly weakens the mortar, I use a squirt for a bucket almost full of mortar maybe a tablespoon or 30 to 40 Ml.u might not need it with the mortar bag

Used a mortar gun a lot, if you have several spare tubes pre loaded it's pretty efficient, load from the gun end not the nozzle then you can shake it down to get a good fill, a large funnel makes filling pretty mess free and simple, a small amount of hydrated lime is all you need to ensure a pump able consistency, you need to be careful with washing-up liquid and whisk mixers, you cannot control the amount of air in the mix and I will cause the mix to fail. The mortar bag looks interesting but I would think manually squeezing mortar out of the bag all day would be pretty heavy going on your hands. The mix you are putting through it looks very wet, so you will be waiting around until you can get on it with a jointing iron and brush! To be honest a tuck pointer and a hawk gets the job done just as well without any fuss. Imo

Iwas tryng to say BERG paddle mixer,, if u do alot of mixing spend a few more £$ and get a BERG well worth the money IT is sooo much better than a cheapy,, and dont forget to get a marshal town mortar bag no I am not getting anything for this ,,
