This is the first time I've ever seen anyone tying on video without a vise. I first learned to tie flies without a vise 40 years ago and didn't own a vise the first 2 years I tied. It teaches you a lot about material handling and finger dexterity. Cool.

Yeah,I tried to tie the extension with two vise but felt it was even more tricky than to keep the whole package in your hands :)

Blinding!! That was well worth watching!! I've had my tying stuff laid out on the kitchen table for about 3 weeks but until now I haven't had the inspiration to even offer up a hook to a vise.... This has given me some reasons to get back at it Thanks for sharing 🌞

I like the Mongoose a lot,really worth the money imo.Have tied thousands of flies on mine,at the moment the jaws are a bit loose but still going strong.If have to criticize something I would say that the rotation is hard to adjust to be smooth :)

Ei ole,ihan vaan syystä että toi kevlarlanka on halpaa olen sitä käyttänyt,normi sidontalanka + pikis käy ihan yhtä hyvin :)

paljonko suurinpiirtein tuo siima tulee ulos tuosta koukun perästä?

Normisti noin 60 mm mutta se riippuu tietysti kuinka pitkän perhosta haluaa,60 mm siimaa ja 150-160 mm höyhentä jättää jo 210-220 mm "häntää" siihen päälle koukun varsi niin ollaan noin 27-30 cm perhossa mikä alkaa olemaan mielestäni aika hyvä :)

Haha..Jaa,kräver lite tålamod faktiskt. Ingen modell man börjar binda till en tom box dagen före man skall ut :) Bucktail kvaliten måste också vara bra. Kämpa på,efter tre,fyra flugor får man en viss "touch" i det hela,sen blir dom nog bra (y)

Hehe Jo, Ja jag märkte att jag måste nog använda mig av extra select bucktailen för att få det finare hehe vad hade du för tråd förrutom kevlar tråden? hade bara 0,90 fluro hemma å det vart lite svårt å ta små klumpar bucktail för att få det å se bra ut hehe men men som du säger om 10 st så kan jag nog det ;) Tack för utmaningen! hahah

0,90 funkar kanon,hemligheten är att varje bunt bucktail täcker lite av föregående,därför kan man använda förvånansvärt små klumpar för att få ett resultat som ser tjockare ut än vad den i verkligheten är. Tråden jag använde på videon var Veevus 100dn vill jag minnas :)
