Beast In Black has been on my list of bands to check out since when I started with Nightwish videos. You all talked about Yannis with such reverie that it intrigued me. I broke down when I saw the title of this song, and knew. . . it was perfect for winter. I was right!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Beast In Black for the first time, performing "Blind And Frozen”.

- This guy doesn't ever need to duet. He nailed "Ghost Love Score" in key on his personal KZbin channel - Even though there isn't a music video or official live performance (yet) I'd highly recommend "Ghost In the Rain". His voice gets so light and tender in that one it goes into Celine Dion territory. Before adding layer upon layer of strength and distortion into a restrained crescendo. - Alternatively, do "Moonlight Rendevous" (allround performance with a cyberpunk video), "Cry Out For a Hero" (higher end), "From Hell With Love" (catchy) or "Born Again" (mid range)

For bonus trivia, the founder of Beast in Black is Anton Kabanen, formerly of Battle Beast, and a lot of Beast in Black is the direction Anton wanted to take Battle Beast in before he split from them. The upshot of all this drama is we now have two awesome power metal bands, fronted by Noora and Yannis, instead of just one.

Typical reaction if you don't know a counter tenor. That's why beast in black reactions are almost as fun as Jinjer reactions. But better with reactors that don't know too much about singing. Like there's no fun in Liz just calmly analyzing it not even an ounce of surprise when Yannis gets going. Only "yeah, that's cool. Good control on his top"

Beast in Black was formed by Anten after getting kicked out of Battle Beast. This is Beast in Black's first single, and so many peoples' jaw just dropped hearing this song. There's always a dice roll when someone gets kicked out of a band and forms another, and it almost is never as mind-blowing as this song. There's actually 2 singers. The scratchier one is Anten, the main guitarist, and they know how to mix the two vocalists together. I can almost hear Let It Go in this song.

There is a saying among Yannis fans "every song is a yannis song". He has a youtube channel where he has done covers of many different genres. His biggest cover is probably nightwish's ghost love score. But he's also covered pop artists and Disney songs too! Definitely worth a reaction as I believe he sings ghost love score arguably better than Floor does!

I've wanted to see Elizabeth's take on this fascinating hybrid of mid-80's A-ha and mid 80's Judas Priest for quite some time! The chorus is catchier than the common cold and Yannis' vocals are as amazing as his last name is hard to pronounce. Beast in Black, meet Goddess in Grey.

Yannis is probably the most versatile vocalist I've ever heard. He has highs, lows, grit, clean and plenty of emotion. A good song to really hear the versatility is "moonlight rendezvous" or "broken survivors". He does it all in those songs. His control is inhuman.

Now that you've heard Yannis, you gotta listen to Noora Louhimo of Battle Beast and their songs "Black Ninja" and "Master of Illusion". Not sure there exist a high quality recording of Daniel Heiman doing "The One".(live, or even a video) Which is the inherent problem of breaking that song down. Not ideal doing one for a 11 minute album track showing only the cover. Could perhaps do the one Pellek has. It's a cover, but he pulls it off as good as possible for a Heiman song, and doing it bare-chested, you can almost anatomically see the strain on the vocal chords.

I got very lucky in autumn 2019 to see Beast in Black three times... once opening for Gloryhammer and twice as a headliner with Myrath opening for them. They sound really good and fun in person. Speaking of Myrath, I'm pretty sure you would enjoy Zaher Zorgati's vocals and Myrath's mixture of western and eastern elements.

Finally ! a reaction on Yannis Papadopoulos's vocals 🙏 . As everyone is mentioning , Yannis has an amazing cover of Nightwish Ghost Love Score , but I have another suggestion not that mainstream . You should check his cover of the song "Omorfi Poli" meaning "Beautiful City" composed by our Greek Pride legendary composer Mikis Theodorakis , who not long ago decided to leave us for the great journey . It's truly a wonderful song , representing the heart of greek music that nurtured the last generations .

Elizabeth, their song “Beast in Black” is the one they start their concerts with, and it has so much epicness and “Oomph”, it’s incredible! It starts with the word “Berzerker!” and it feels just pure power and rage. Just don’t sing along with it when driving because you’ll be speeding in no time ;-) I really hope you’ll react to that one too (crosses fingers).

Elizabeth the “bear claw” you mentioned is a gesture we use in metal especially in black metal and death metal. From the vocalist to the other instrumentalists. Often posing in Pictures. We sometimes called it the claw of doom. We imagine holding a skull like in Hamlet. We did it in my band often I had no idea opera singers did it as well! Please analyze Yannis’s cover of Ghost love score.

I've been listening to this song for a while, now. And every time I heat that long held note I think of Brittany too. When Elizabeth mentioned her it gave me a good chuckle. He does a crazy cover of Ghost Love Score that I'd like to hear you go over, but it would make sense if you don't want to put a second version of a song up that you've already gone over. Especially seeing as how it would be the second time for this artist too.
