'MOONLIGHT RENDEZVOUS' lyrics:
Half-dead in the wasteland of steel and cement
Like a failed experiment
Hunted by a sunless city that never sleeps
Neon reapers rake the streets
Dreaming of a past I may have never had
Everything was false and planned
Aching, just a wind-up toy designed to feel
But the tears are real
I'm a phantom of flesh and fantasy
A machine with a soul in agony
Is there anything left to save of me
Be my remedy
All I want is to feel your love break through
Every piece of my heart belongs to you
With a kiss we will paint a flawless view
Of a moonlight rendezvous
Find me naked in my virgin misery
Like an unplayed melody
Save me, come close and whisper my true name
And become all soothing rain
Touch me like no one's touched me before
In the deep of a cold heart's core
Love me even if it's going to make a crime
We've crossed the line
I'm a phantom of flesh and fantasy
A machine with a soul in agony
Is there anything left to save of me
Be my remedy
All I want is to feel your love break through
Every piece of my heart belongs to you
With a kiss we will paint a flawless view
Of a moonlight rendezvous
GTR SOLO - KASPERI
GTR SOLO - ANTON
I'm a phantom of flesh and fantasy
A machine with a soul in agony
Is there anything left to save of me
Be my remedy
All I want is to feel your love break through
Every piece of my heart belongs to you
With a kiss we will paint a flawless view
Of a moonlight...
I'm a phantom of flesh and fantasy
A machine with a soul in agony
Is there anything left to save of me
Be my remedy
All I want is to feel your love break through
Every piece of my heart belongs to you
With a kiss we will paint a flawless view
Of a moonlight rendezvous

I can agree, and have a somewhat similar story. Discovered them on Spotify in 2019 with Ghost in the Rain and Blind and Frozen. Added 2 more songs in 2021 with From Hell with Love and Die by the Blade. Then this year I really got into them, adding 9 more songs of theirs, 2 each off the first 2 albums, and 5 from the 3rd one. They're so damn good. I've been binging the hell out of them. They were my number 3 artist on my Spotify Wrapped for 2023. I'd wager they'll be number 1 next year.

To anyone who may not know, Beast in Black's previous songs have been based on the manga/anime series Berserk. This song is actually a tribute to another anime though, Armitage 3. Personally I've never watched it but this song makes me wanna watch it.

Yup, Armitage III is a bit of a cult hit among the older anime fans. It was originally an OVA series from the late 80s/Early 90s that eventually got done as a movie in the mid-late 90s, with Elizabeth Berkely and Keifer Sutherland doing the VA roles of the two protag characters, Naomi Armitage and Ross Syllabus respectively.

Sounds like Anton is revisiting "Touch in the Night", and adding some guitar work reminiscent of "From Hell With Love". Huge fan of both songs, and this is a perfect blend of the two, imo. Video's top-tier, too. If the rest of the album is even half as good as this, Dark Connection is going to be the album to beat this year.

The song is one that grows on you, melodically well put together, and has the usual BiB catchy chorus. The video is amazing, so cyberpunk, with a huge flavour of Bladerunner thrown in. @@bigmonkey1254 Blade Runner comes first and foremost in time (1982) and in resemblence but let's also not forget "Ghost in the Shell" (GitS) (Anime movie in 1995 and live-action in 2017). I want to point to the scene where the gynoid sits on a rooftop under moonlight. OK, she does not dive with thermo-optic camouflage and guns blazing but I think I can make my point. Moreover, replicants of Blade Runner are bioengineered and fully organic beings as far as I can remember where cyborgization occurs in different levels in GitS. From the sparks in the clip, I assume cyborgs or androids/gynoids. Ending credits also label the girl as gynoid.

Dont know if it was intentional or not , but when the blonde girl is lying on trash with the gunshot wound another female character walks by with a dog. Now i dont know if its me , but i found it really cool that the dog never seems to acknowledge the wounded girl/android. to him shes just invisible in the pile of trash. Not a real person. Little detail that stood out to me: It's commonly accepted gun discipline to never put your finger on the trigger until you actually intend to pull the trigger. It's an additional safety measure to make sure you don't accidentally fire the weapon at the wrong target or person. Knowing that, the flashbacks in this video are quite revealing. 😊 Props to the actor if he snuck in that detail.

@@ragnarok1984p I watched it on VOX too.. But since it's been a loong time I just forgot about it, even though I love Cyberpunk-stuff. Bladerunner, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Johnny Mnemonic and so on. Hell even the Super Mario Bros. movie had some great Cyberpunk set pieces. But I guess it's time to rewatch Armitage III :D

@@ragnarok1984p haha I was going through the comments to confirm, I've never seen Armitage but I was like "can't tell me that Anton didn't base this off an anime so it's probably Armitage"

I only just heard you guys for the first time last week when you played before Nightwish in Montreal. Bad part: never hearing your music before; good part: the thrill of hearing a whole ton of great music for the first time over the next few weeks!
