great review, bro. the curved ears were from the costume he was wearing towards end of the movie before he fights the joker. according to keaton and burton the ears got curved on the cowl cause the rubber got heated when it was supposed to be in a cold storage room to keep it prestine and someone messed up and left it out. lol. rookie mistakes were made. but, they still went with it.

With my heat gun I was able flatten the Batman logo and custom leather cape made a big difference. The joker is awesome 😎

Have the joker just ordered Batman from what I read and looked up seems like there was a lot of varying issues with this figure so hopefully mine is ok

I collect all 1989 Batman, I even have a life size 89 Batman! At no point in the movie he had his ears bent like that! Put the cowl in warm water and straighten those ears out then dip them in ice water immediately! It will look much better! I did it with my Neca 89 Batman

Hey thanks for checking it out. I haven’t really analyzed it physically in a few weeks but I have been rethinking a lot of the figure and price point. A few things I’m definitely scrutinizing is the shoulder pad area coming up and off the arm. You can see the glue/tack holding in place but it easily came up. Also, the head sculpt at first glance is good in my opinion but, like many “Keaton” attempts … it’s not as good as I’d hoped. The scale, 1/9 scale is hard to match with anything. So the pictures I’d hoped for aren’t coming up as easily as I thought. Then the price point. If Mezcos Batman does what it’s supposed to do, then this Beast Kingdom attempt in my opinion will be over priced. I hope this helps and I know value is in the eye of the collector so if you do get it I hope you enjoy it. Thanks again for stopping by to check it out. - JB 🤙🏽

So I think for keaton 89 batman beast kingdom may be the only option left for me. But am actually afraid it may come with some QC issues like broken shoulder or elbow... That's why I asked you. The ears on mine aren’t curved. But my cowl pops off if I raise the cape up past the shoulder level. And the arms will not go straight down and they keep the cape puffed out. I hate it

Yeah when I did the review I was just excited to have the figure but looking back I definitely changed my opinion to it’s … ok at best. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽

This one is a big NOPE. I also ordered from BBTS. The first one arrived with a broken left arm. BBTS sent a replacement without bothering to get the first one back. That was a red flag. The replacement arrived and the overall build of this thing is just NOT a $120 figure. I emailed BBTS wanting to trade it for the NECA 1/4 version. They are back in the office tomorrow, so we'll see. This thing feels like it is going to break if you look at it wrong! My original plan, since there are NO other 1/9 scale figures, was to display Batman and 1989 Joker together. After seeing how beast kingdom did this figure, I'm getting out while the getting's good. No thanks, beast kingdom!

Wow that stinks! I see your points and no argument if you’re quickly getting out. After the review and looking at it again I see the potential issues that everyone is pointing out. Try heating the ears with a hairdryer to shape them then switch to cool air to set them in place

I saw another review where the Pants looked horrible they were way more baggy and loose fitting, looking more like a diaper. Yours seems to be way better but the figures cape is not really the quality that I would of hoped for and the fact that the Cowl doesn't actually pop onto the peg rather just kinda resting on it.

I used to collect beast kingdom but they jacked up the price too much. I have all the Justice league figures from them. They are good but I don't like the joint and socket engineering they used for those figures.
